KYB's missing notch at top of strut

Why do kyb's have the threads all the way around the post? I've only ever seen struts with a D shaped post. Reason I ask is my tein camber plates won't work with these struts.

What struts are setup with a D notched post at the end? (maybe this is a series difference s4/s5 or difference in ABS/Non-ABS?)

Actually after looking at it a little more, it appears that the turbo2 I have came stock with the KYB/MacPherson strut upgrade, which were cut out and koni cartridges were inserted. So this problem is with the KONI piston rod that mounts at the strut top/pillowball.

The part that is a D is a removable part. You should be able to fetch some of those circle things when you ditch the konis

Edit....your talking about the front....doh

The nut right between the spring perch and camber plate (labeled #2) has a notch in it for the strut piston rod. Koni's won't fit in there. I read in a search that someone was using kyb's with the plates so I just picked up a set of those from tire rack.
