Koyo Radiator Replacement

Here's the Scenario:

My 2 year project has been fully on the road for about 5 months total now. With about 1000k miles on my setup.
Last summer, cracked a rear plate, fixed over the winter, put everything back in, all is well, except now I have a slow leak in my NEW Koyo Radiator. It is inside the fins somewhere, and I cannot locate it for the life of me. It slowly drips from the bottom endtank just below the lower radiator hose. I will be pulling it to pressure test it soon, and find out exactly where it is. It did not leak AT ALL before, held pressure and could bleed it once, and was good to go. Now I have to add coolant before each day I want to drive it, even if it just sat overnight. The overflow tank fills up in a few days, and because of the compromise in the system pressure, it will not get pulled back into the radiator as it cools down.

My question is...Can this radiator be replaced under warranty. I think the warranty period is 1 year. I know I have owned this radiator for more than a year, but it hasnt been on the car for anywhere close to that. I am pretty sure that 1 year is from purchase date...yada, yada, but I'm just exhausting every option before I have to run out an purchase ANOTHER new radiator.

Whatcha think?

Naw its twelve months after you buy it, you're going to have to buy a new one.

i had the same problem before. mine leaked at the bottom drain plug, and the hose wasn't tightened enough. re-check your lower hose clamp and tighten it as much as you can.

i did that and i hadn't had problems ever since i checked it. good luck on your hunt.

Yep, triple checked the lower hose clamps and hoses, I'm running Samco Hoses with worm clamps...I used a socket to tighten those suckers down...I have left paper towels underneath them overnight, and they are crispy dry in the morning.

Its not leaking from the Hoses, and you can actually see a line of residue coming from inside the fins, down to where it pools, then drips.

then i would safely say that you probably "accidentaly" damaged your radiator fins while doing something :P

i've watched MYTHBUSTERS and they put an egg in a leaking radiator and it stopped the leak. if you want, you can try that... :P, the other route would be, buying a new one? :P
