How do you like the ST's in the FC? I just ordered a set because of my bad experience with the progressive rate eibach's in my bimmer. (too squishy till the second rate kicked in)

the way i see it... if u go with new springs and new struts... and sway bars... the best deal is probably the racing beat system at around 425 bucks for the package

425 + shocks... ie kyb agx is

425 + 355 = 780 aprox.

for another 300 dollars you can get the tien HA coil overs which are probably 10x better then a basic spring and strut upgrade.

for another 400 on top of that... u can get the TEIN RA coilovers which are their top of the line stuff for FC.

at that price you can also look at JIC FLT A2 which is JIC's equiavalent to the TEIN RA system.

Note there are mixed feelings about both systems:

mainly the fact htat TEINs are made from steel and steel will corrode over time and thus cuase the setting ***** and the shock to seize up.

Well guys I got more then I bargain for (in the good sense). I never heard of some of the manufacturers names before (I’m kind of new to upgrading the suspension) Well let me explain where the money coming from. The car is owned by me and my roommate/close friend (there is two names on title), so few days ago my friend was driving our car and some dambass hit it so that you cannot really see that there is damage but estimators say that bumper needs to be replaced, and since our FC's have reinforced bumper that will cost $2200 plus the tip on the muffler was broken so that is another $800 the grand total is around $3000(ripping the insurance company). So if I actually will get that money that is my cap (i will not fix my rear bumper. I don't think it will affect my performance). In this 3000 dollars should fit the suspension and at least the complete set of bushings (front, rear and Toe Eliminator) and also, if possible, complete exhaust from RB, which is around $800. After I have been more specific any suggestions?

Go with a custom exhaust. I have a 2.5" that was made for my car costing all of 300 bucks installed. Of course its way too loud as I have 4 flow through mufflers but hell that is still 500 bucks short of the RB cat back you're talking about.

Its also gotten me pulled over 5 times and given me a single fix it ticket so it's being replaced with another custom set up for about the same money. I also sold the old one so it's still only costing me about 250 for my header back system.

Well, I have driven on all 3 types, so I guess Ill give my opinions.

1st, when I got my FC (3-4 years ago) the rear struts were completly shot, so I needed something cheap at the time. I got a set of Konis (all 4). The ride was much improved overall. This was mated with stock springs however, so I guess I didnt feel the full effect. The car felt much better than stock, but still had a comfortable "softness" to it. ( I didnt really care for that..I likemy sports cars to feel like sports cars, rattle your teeth loose ) But overall, a good replacement for the money, and it cured my wheelhop.

After I started making more money, I bought Tokico HP stuts, along with Tokico springs. I absolutely LOVE this combo. It is nice and firm, great control, car handles awesome, etc...

On my Turbo2 (donor car for my N/A -> T2 swap) I had KYB 8-way adjustables in the rear, 4 way adjustables up front, mated to RB springs. This setup felt really good also, but no better than my Tokicos. I personally dont really need all of that adjustment range (if you road race often, Im sure you do, but for a street car, its kinda worthless IMO) Again that setup felt really good, but it costs alot more than the tokicos, and didnt feel any better. I ended up selling those, and sticking with my Tokico strut/springs.

tein's leak. known fact.

Ground controll's are used on so many race cars it's really rediculous. Ground controll's and custom valved koni's are the best bet if you want to go racing and want to design a package to suit your cars specs and your racing needs.They can be rebuilt (relatively fast) in the U.S. and are very consistent on shock dynos.

That said tein's are nice if you're going to be doing a lot of street driving and occasional tracking. They're nice and easy in that it's got everythign you need and is pretty idiot proof. Just bolt them up and adjsut the height.
