whoring myself out for hits to see if i can max out the old allocated bandwidth
i swapped out the old OEM KYB's on the FC for koni yellows. here's a write up on it with some pix and something resembling step by step instructions.

not exactly. koni doesnt sell a macphearson strut replacment for the FC. instead, they sell insert shocks that you have to put into the OEM strut housing.
on the top there are the replacements for the rear with the spring seats. the ones on the bottom are the inserts for the front struts. so basically, you have to cut up the old strut and screw these in. that little peg at the bottom of the inserts are threaded and match up with the pilot hole in the bottom of the strut. there was a guy who did a write up on his experience with them and posted a link here, but the link is dead now. he used a hacksaw instead of a grinder to take the top off.

hey
i did the same swap last year cept i put tein s techs in with the koni's. What are those white discs for? i have yet to figure them out. According to the diagrams they drop over the shaft but another diagram showed an internal adjustment where you change spots of the discs to adjust the shocks. I may sound like i am talking outta my *** but for ppl who own koni's they should understand. Or maybe i am just lost

ah tein springs! i dream of the day i can put some tein springs on there, or at least the racing beat lowered ones, but i have to keep the stock springs on for SCCA stock class.
as for the disks, heh, yeah i was wondering that myself. the only thing i can figure is they're some kind of cushion for to keep lessen the impact on the shock when the travel bottoms out.
