knocking in the rear end? please help!
hey guys i have a 88 jdm tII that i just got a couple of weeks ago... anyways, first thing i noticed is a loud knocking sound when going in to gears... whenever i release the clutch a little bit fast it does the loud knocking sound... also when i release the gas and step on it again it does the same thing... this only happens on accel... so i cant really drive it hard, coz if i do and when i shift it does the knocking sound... doesnt do the knocking on deccel... i jacked up the car and i started shaking and moving parts and seems like non of the bushings are f'ed.. so i went and checked my axle shafts and twisted them both the other way, and theres some play, atleast 1/4 inch movenet or a little bit less or more before the driveshaft would move... does this mean my diff is messed up? oh i know for sure that my lsd isnt locking anymore? could that be it? i hope that made anysense but i hope u guys can help me on this thanks

This is because you have a broken differential mount.. It connects the differential to the subframe of the car. Its a stress point so its harsh when you are engaging and disengaging the clutch, I might say..... I can sell you one for 60 dollars.... Its in good condition, not cracks on the mount...... and here is a forum on how to replace the mount.

This guy did a write up on how to replace it..... Its farely simple. not to difficult..... PM me if interested in the mount.
