key will not turn

After being out of town for the Holidays I went to move the TII so I could get it to start (hopefully) so I insert my recently made copy that has started the car before and the key will not TURN! I bent the hell out of the key trying to get it to turn. So I thought maybe it is a bad copy and go get the original, only to notice that it is also slightly bent. It also will not turn and I am afraid to force it. What should I do? Can the Mazda dealer make me a fresh key using my vin number?

a picture of the copied key is attatched

Not trying to make you sound stupid or anything, but make sure that the steering wheel is not turned and locked. IF the steering wheel is locked try turning it the other direction a little bit, then turn the key. I've done this once or twice myself, and thought "oh ****, WTF is wrong", only to realize the wheel was locked and not letting the key turn...

Yes you can get factory keys made. It's about 7.50 or so per key (I think, I had mine done at a Mazda Dealership in SSM, ON, Canada). From the VIN they'll be able to look up the key code (if you don't already have it).
