Keith Hanna (DrKillJoy) in Hospital after serious accident
Keith Hanna (Houston RX7 club president) is in the Hospital today for a motorcycle accident that he was involved in.
bad news: Keith has crushed part of his vertebrae (L1) good news: He can move his legs. So for the time being he is in a stable condition. They will be taking more MRI's to be sure of no tissue damages that may cause further problems.
EVERYONE PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR FALLEN ROTARY BROTHER
I'm sorry that this thread is not 2nd Gen specific, but alot more people would read this coming from here.

I will keep him in my thoughts!
I lost my dad at the age of 2 to a motor cycle accident.
I wish him and his family the best of luck.
On a brighter note get him a laptop so that he can go on forum still!!

I hope he comes out okay. He's in my prayers also.
I ride a bike more often than I drive a car in the summer... but you can't think about the bad things that could happen or it looses all of its pleasures. I had a good buddy of mine seriuosly hurt in a bike accident I know the cosenquences. I will continue to ride till my body or mind makes me inable.. I am just that much more aware of bikes when I am in my car .. cause I ride.
I wish him and his family the best, and a speedy recovery

Sad news indeed. Keith is a valuable member of our community, and would be sorely missed if things turned out wrong.
From one club pres. to another, a speedy recovery Keith. People are counting on you.
(note: I'm glad I convinced myself to sell my bike in favor of doing a TII xplant on my GSL-SE. I've know too many "road pizzas" in my life to have much fun with bikes any more.)

Keith is definitely in my thoughts and I wish him the best. I fellow techie and a rotary brother, he'll have a lot of remote healing thoughts going on (if you belive in that sort of thing) from all of us. I'm sure he'll come out ok, but if he won't be able to drive to Sevenstock, he can have the backseat of the Durango on the way there (if he still wants to go)

Reason #3045 never to buy a bike! I have a friend that wrecked his bike last year and among other damage smashed 3 vertabrea. He was NOT supposed to walk but after several months he was up with a walker and now uses two canes to get around, It's beed about a year. The thing is you WILL absolutly WILL crash some time on a bike and when you do you are on the ground. Not in a seat not protected by metal and crush zones and air bags and seat belts. Your *** is on the floor period.
Heal up Keith and hope you'll be motoring again soon. ( in the 7 for Jesus's sake)

Bah! you have 3045 reasons not to ride a bike, I can think of twice as many to ride a bike. 75% of the time a good safe rider gets taken out by a dipshit in a automobile.
So all you people "protected by metal and crush zones and air bags and seat belts" keep your lacsidasicaly; eyes off the stereo, cell phone in your ears, talking to your GF next to you, racing the ricer ... eyes on the fukin road and alot less bikers will be in the hosptital.
I know they are dangerous ... but for some of us its a way of life.. we have the right to drive on the same roads the rest of you do. We polutte less, use less fuel, take up less space on the roadways, and are 10000 times more ecinomical (and fast ) than the best running RX-7 on the road.
So in closing don't speak as though poeple should stop riding motorcycles ... speak as though people should start watching out for them.

ugh.. that sucks. I'd love to have a motorcycle myself, but that's the reason why I wouldn't.. other people on the road scare me enough when I'm enclosed in a cage of metal.

**** man, that Is really to bad. Although I don't know him, I really feel bad. It was just a month ago I lost a really good friend to a motorcycle accident.
On the highway his bike slid and the edge of the visor crushed his throat. Damn nearly decapitated him.
Strangely enough, despite all the potential Deadly scenarios that are Implicated with Motorcycles, I plan on getting one next Summer...
