Keeping Cruise when doing a turbo swap?
I'm getting ready to swap a j-spec motor in my gxl and i have one question i haven't seen any answers to. Can i keep cruise control functional? What would be required? I'm thinking maybe only a cruise silenoid from a tII. Thanks for any input.

I'm guessing your going to have to get the one out of a trubo car. The one that is all electric. But I'd give it a try with the old vacuum unit and see how big an inconvienience(sp) it is. IF just cruising it might not kick out as much as we think.

You know what's weird? I have the NA vacuum style actuator on my car and it still works fine, even when the car boosts as the cruise brings it up to speed.
Give it ia try. If it doesn't work, I have a TII cruise actuator you can have for $20 + shipping.

I just had my NA swapped out for a TII in my 86. All my mechanic did was order the TII cruise control cable (the NA one was not long enough to reach any more). I'm still trying to figure if there's any difference now as I also removed the ECU and replaced it with a Wolf3D. I think it may surge a little while on, not sure but it works well enough to use.
