I averaged around 25 on my last drive to L.A. I had my SAFC tuned down 8% up to 4000 and I just cruised at about 80 in fifth the whole way down I5. I was using my AC down toward Pasadena when traffic hit too.

i have aftermarket rims but have no idea if they are lighter or heavier than stock, mallory ignition, new injectors, open exhuast, filter, emissions removed, only running the Alt belt. those are the only things i can think of that would effect mileage. the ignition gave me a couple MPG better, and im sure non leaking injectors help. and mine is an 86 luxury

I get 400 to a tank on the highway. 16 gallons x 26 MPG (cruising) = 416. But that is the whole tank almost completely empty. I usually fill up between 350-400 miles.
I have a modified stock air box, K&N Filter, ported and simplified throttle body, Pineapple racing 5th and 6th port sleeves, Simplified emissions, no air pump, no power steering, electric cooling fan, FD alternator, hollowed first and second pre-cats, stock main cat and an aftermarket Cat-back. Before a road trip I make sure my tires are inflated properly plus about 1 PSI extra air pressure. I have 15 inch BBS convertible rims on BF Goodrich 205 /60’s. I also replaced all 4 wheel bearings in the entire car when I restored it. I have Redline fluid in the transmission (manual) and a GXL limited slip differential with Redline fluid.
I use cruise control and run the A/C. The A/C will drop mileage by 1 or 2 MPG if it is really hot out.

Me and a friend just picked up my 91 vert in Ohio and drove it back to Dallas. We managed to get around 450 miles per tank! That was all easy highway driving around 70-80 mph. I was pleasantly surprised with the gas mileage.
That said, I probably won't ever get close to that again. I'm having too much fun listening to the engine at high RPMs.

ROTARD FOR LIFE!!!
wow... 400mpg really?
wtf, my 7 is getting roughly 175 pertank on an NA, and i drive it as easy as possiable(usally dont excede 3000rpm at anytime) and well, i checked how much im using by Filling up, driving 100miles and then filling up agian (sender and gauge busted... lol) and i avarage 16.9 Miles according to that formula... give or take i asume but damn...
Still worth the gas though but id be nice to DD the car once in a while

i have a stock s5 NA with the vert BBS wheels . 225/50/15 tires. engine is all stock, with only a cone filter. full RB exhaust (header, presilencer, y-pipe, and RB mufflers).
i daily drive my car to work about 55 miles per day. mostly highway at about 80mph average. sometimes i have fun wit it shifting at about 5k rpm. but mostly grandma it and shift at about 3k rpm.
i get about 330 miles per tank.
when i had the stock exhaust with blown cats i got the same mileage.
im happy i get better mileage than my stock auto 4 cyl 92 Camry and its funner to drive!

I regularly see 300mi on 13gal - I fill up when I get the flickers of the low fuel light, normally.
I could go 360-370mi before running dry, I just don't like to get that far down - it's bad for the fuel pump.

How many more mileage topics do we need? Anyone considering a reply to this thread should probably check the FAQ and do a search for "mileag". This has kind of been beaten to death including a 5+ page topic in the last few days.

GTUs kills my fuel mileage, 80mph is 4150rpm in 5th gear (4.30 rear and different 5th gear)......stuck with 13-15mpg until I get the timing issue and AIT sensor resolved :-( Just passed CA emissions, though! 18.5 gallon tank in this car as well.

400 miles per tank on an RX-7? No. No, that's so very horribly wrong. What was the point of starting this thread?
To get 400 miles per tank, you'd need to be getting at least a SOLID 25mpg, and a solid mileage isn't possible.
