keep 10 ae stock or alter it
This poll is completly useless as your only listening to the ppl that tell you to modify it's appearance to what you like and ignoring anyone that is giving you a reason not to modify it.
What i'm saying is you just looking for any excuse/approval to change it's apearance and not an overall opinion
IMO you and anyone else that has a 10AE should leave it looking stock and modify the drivetrain for performance however keep the stock components incase you ever decide to sell it and the buyer is interested in a 10AE and not a s4 that looks like an s5
to me having a clean looking 10AE is knowing only a selected few can really appreciate it for what it is 10 years of RX-7 revolution

Mod until your heart is content.
The truth is that there is nothing really special about a 10th AE. *GASP!* "Say it isn't so!" I know some people are probably going to jump on my sh*t and call me a Blasphemer, but hear me out...
Yes, the 10th AE was designed to be a collectors car, but the collectors market has never accepted it as one. The only 10th AE's that have acutally appreciated in value and become collectable are the ones that have never been driven. (Under 50,000 miles)
So if you buy a 10th AE with 100,000 miles on the odometer, do you really think it's special? Nope. Sorry. It's just another series 4 Turbo II that has the same "gremlins" as every other series 4 turbo II has.
Mod the car and make it into what you want.
And for all the bleeding heart 10th AE owners that say all AE's should be saved: This guy is doing you a favor by making your car more rare. Let him have his fun.

A true RX-7 is light and powerful. The AE is bulky and loaded to the kilt with every option available. I remember several automotive reviews from 1988 that said the 1988 GTU is the REAL AE because it was more true to the RX-7 spirit.

. I have nothing against a white car, it's just not for me. I am not a white car kind of guy. -Robert
There's nothing more badass than a 10 AE that looks like a regular 10 AE from the outside but is a frankenstein under the hood. (and by frankenstein I mean a modified 13bt, not some V8 bullshit)

Proud to be an owner of a 10AE
i have a 10ae and battled that question for a while until i realized that no matter how much we love this car, just cause it's limited, it's not gonna be worth a lot of money, it's really up to the owner's preference, if you want to keep it like it was then that's cool and respectable.
Of course, if a fews down the line i find out that i'm 1 of only let's say 5 owners of the last 10AEs and they're worth 10k+ i'll be kicking myself, but i could always spend less than that putting back to stock..... but then again, i probably won't sell it cause i love it (most of the time)
so basically, my opinion is that it's up to you, and if somebody talks down to you for it, tell them to stop complaining about your car and get their own
that's all for me, time to play with the 7

I'm modifying my 10th AE. It has about 120K on it and salvage title (engine fire.) So its not like its going to be worth anything. I wouldn't modify a clean, stock 10th AE with under 80K miles though.

You know, its threads like this that make me want to rip the AE badges off of my car so no one gives me **** for what i want to do to it
To me, modifications are exactly that: modifications. I think the ruining that everyone is worried about is more akin to someone driving like an ******* and wrapping it around a telephone pole. Modifications can always be removed! But a bent frame will never be the same...

I wonder how many of the 1500 AE's are still stock?
Besides mine. Got to be less than 1/2
I think the AE has its own special look with the tail's and the wheels. Just watch Barret Jackson on the speed channel before you mod your AE. I think all rotary powered cars are going to collector cars........if you wait long enuff due to the unique motor. I've seen rusted heap R100's fetch a totaly rediculos prices. What about the REPU? The good thing about RX7's is they are cheap enuff for kids to buy and thrash = making mine more rare every day. Just look at the parts for sale section and theres always some being parted out.
Fact a well kept RX7 will not depriciate.
