Kabooki's Ongoing FC questions...

I know im going to have a ton of questions, so i'll just keep postin them here instead of starting several threads. I will search first and ask questions to clarify.

Such as: Here is a pic of my "bucket 'o parts" that was in the trunk. Gave away the headlights but I take it the hks antique bov goes where the next pic shows. Where does the hose off that section go from there? First thought was boost redirect, but that would have to go off the bov, i think.

BOV goes here:?

next question. The 13b(t?) takes a map and a maf (afm?)

Im guessing that torpedo thing in the bottom rh side of the box is my air flow meter? looks restrictive, is there a way to use a maf like on nissans?

Is that what Originally went here: (bottom right corner)

Anyone got an actual pic of what it looks like?

The bov on the pipe in the first pic REPLACES the aluminum pipe in the 2nd pic.

You would then likely need to block off the hole left over in the intake duct going to the turbo, because if not the car will not idle/run due to a massive vacuum leak.

Also with most aftermarket bov's you will have issues getting a smooth idle because they in themselves leak air at idle and create a small vacuum leak. The other option is to recirculate the BOV back into the TID (like it comes stock) but this is not possible with all BOVs, and also defeats the purpose of them anyway.

Once you get these issues out of the way, the BOV should have one vacuum line running from the intake manifold to it, just like stock.

the 2nd gen rx7 requires the AFM, as it is the basis for all fuel calculation, and without it the ecu is completely blind as to how to run the engine. There has never been a successful, worthwhile AFM swap proven to work on these cars, and I think the old vein airflow convertor setups sold back in the day are no longer available. There is no way to get around this while keeping the stock fuel injection computer. You're looking at around a grand or more in hardware, plus tuning, to take the step up to a power FC, haltech, microtech etc. that operates on map/speed density only.

Yes, it also appears you are missing a large bracket/engine hanger/intercooler bracket but it is not critical. Plus obviously the alternator.

the afm/altenator are in the trunk as is the stock intercooler. But it seems the oil fill tube is missing, but what is the other fill tube right next to it? it looks like it has an oil can on the lid.

Im not sure I understand. There is nothing there but the oil filler neck and the dipstick tube.

Here, this might help. You can also look at other pics of turbo II engines and cars on ebay to help.

thats what I thought, but the circle'd cap in the pic has a oil can on it...

Which way does that go? Facing toward the firewall or front of engine? Seems angled where if it went towards the front of the car, it would angle down, and towards the firewall, it would angle up so the oil could run down it.

You did not look at the picture of the engine in the link I posted above, did you? Look under the intercooler, and you can easily see the position of the oil filler neck/cap.

Maybe one of us is just dense tonight, but I don't understand where the confusion is coming in.

IS this an engine/car you actually have possession of? I mean, you can see the 2 bolt oval flange on the engine in your pic...and you can see the matching flange in the pic of the oil filler neck I posted from your link. So, you turn that picture around with the cap facing forward, line the flanges up, and there it is.

Odds are that the oil cap in your engine pic is actually connected to your oil filler neck, probably hanging on by a wire or a hose laying beside the engine. Take a bigger picture.

I went and pulled the tail lights today, brought them home and scrub'd them clean of dried paint/weird overspray. Buffed and polished. Here is the before:

And after some work...

I can actually afford ****, it seriously was misplaced. I left it on a counter at work, and now its gone. "Nobody moved any paperwork" so it just vanished

About to rip apart my room to find it (I actually still have the part of the title that tears off so I dont know what the hell happened to the rest of it)
