assuming you're talking about the 'clunk clunk clunk' noise, (i would describe it as a clunk not a crack) its normal, its supposed to happen, its a good thing. if it ever goes away its bad, be concerned. if you dont like it just powerslide through every turn, but eventually you'll learn to love it.

ok, naw, it doesn't bother me but I was concerned about it cause I didn't know if it was supposed to be like that or not. Feels and sounds like a detroit locker. I didn't know that is what it was.

What lube are you using in the diff? The spendy Zaaz stuff? If it's not already formulated for clutch type LSDs then you need the friction modifier.

To break in the diff go to a big parking lot and do figure 8s. Go slow and don't overheat the diff. You won't hurt the diff if you get it hot, but you can break down the lube and then loose the ring and pinion.

Back from the dead! I can really relate to this thread so I need to resurrect it, sorry. My Kaaz makes horrible crack crack noises only when turning left or right. It is new, and the noise seems to be getting worse. Tomorrow I will replace the fluid with brand new Kaaz fluid and do slow figure 8s. I hope it improves (to a reasonable level). Normal or not, it feels like it will fall apart any minute! And I guess the one in my last car was adjusted differently because it would whine a lot on acceleration, but never did this ****. (???)

Mine does the same. I've been running it daily for a few months and it still does it. I've changed the fluid once since break in. I wouldn't worry about it. From talking to a couple of people its the norm for the KAAZ to pop, moan and click.

I'm using the Kaaz fluid also.

Mine does it on slow turns like parking or just around the town slow turns. Even when backing out while turning it will snap crackle and pop.

FIXED! Thanks to Crispeed, the Rx-7 forum and the Kaaz website. I changed the Kaaz fluid just to be sure it has the correct type and amount. I also added 1 small bottle of the recommended GM limited slip additive (right off the shelf at work )
Then I did the full break in procedure as per the website:

http://www.kaazusa.com/techHelp/tech_Help.htm

I did exactly 30 minutes, was dizzy afterwards. The noise has decreased 300% and runs great. Thanks!!!
