K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit for an 86 NT
Hey folks,
Has anybody have one of these. I'm thinking of buying this and before I buy, I want to find out how this hooks up to the air meter and air intake on the carb. Has anyone ever installed this on their RX? I have a 86 NT and want to be sure this will work. Let me know!

I've never seen this actually installed. Personally I would say it isn't worth it. If you just want a cone intake just buy a universal K&N filter for 50 bucks and get the HKS adapter for another 20. If you want to go all out you can check out my web page by clickin on my signature and go to products and take a look at our CAI(Cool Air Intake) From what I remember the FIPK for the S4 is something like 200 dollars right?

If I recall, alls it is a adapter plate, with a K&N Oval filter. I think it also comes with a small hose that attaches to the back plate of the filter, and runs to the airpump. If you could post a picture of it, thatd be helpful, but Im pretty sure that is all it consists of. Definately not worth the money. Buy a HKS adapter (or I believe forum member HIGGI makes copies of these.) for ~$25, then a univeral K&N cone , and breather filter to attach to the airpump. Should run you under $60 total.
If you feel like getting creative, do a search on here for cold air intakes. People have some pretty interesting ways of routing pipes and filters to pick up cooler outside air, instead of sucking in hot engine bay air.
If you are keeping the filter in the stock location (front corner of engine bay) then making/buying a cold air box is always a good idea.
