Smile Just wanted to say hello

Hi!

Im new here and i recently purchased a 90 rx7. I was told to go here if i wanted to know about anything that has to do with rx7s. The man i bought it from said its a FC? Im not sure what that means. I also just recently went to my first car show. Hot Import Nights was a blast! I saw some really nice looking rx7s out there and i was thinking about doing some modifications myself. My father is a mechanic so i know a little about maintaining a car. I hope you guys can help me out. Is there any other girls on here? Anyway, just wanted to say "HI!"

Good job picking a car with rotary power!
Change oil every 3000 miles, redline it every day (seriously), and let it warm up before you drive it hard, and you will have a car that will love you for a long time.
Welcome to the forum!

I took some pictures of my rx7 but im not sure how to post them here. And yes its a non turbo. My dad tried to steer me away from buying a rotory engine car but i loved the way it drove and after seeing a real nice one at a car show, i was in love. I think i am up for the task, im never afraid to get my hands dirty! :p

Thumbs up So Cal RX7 Site

Christina,

Being a So Cal "7" enthusiast in the making, you should also have this web site into your favorites:

http://www.socal7s.org/

They were the sponsors to what I believe was the best RX7 gathering I've ever heard of much less participated in. Last June, SevenStock4 in the parking lot of Mazda's Costa Mesa facility. Stay tuned to these guys.

christina FC,

Do you have a Champagne color '90 RX-7? I gave a female with a Champagne FC a paper with a list of RX-7 resources and websites. I forgot her name since I was in a hurry.

Either way, welcome to the forum.

You left me out...

Oh well, feel free to post if you have any questions. Im sure if anything goes wrong it has happened to somebody, probably me

Just curious, how many miles does you car have? The 89-91 n/a tend to have the electrical OMP fail, and that usually results in a blown motor. The OMP injects oil into the engine to lubricate the seals. I had one fail on my 89, and it blew the engine. Then I had another one fail on me, but I was using premix(putting oil into the gas so you dont need the OMP) so the engine was fine that time. My friend has a mechanic shop, and 2 89-91 n/a's have been in there recently with a failed OMP. One blew the motor, but the second one was fine. All of the engines were between 125K and 135K, with the excepting of 2 engines, the rebuilt one that had the rebuilt(3K miles) OMP fail(long story, but the engine wasnt built right, so Im sure they didnt do the OMP right either), and the other one had 152K.

One last thing, click the link in my sig below. Its definately worth a look.
