Actually about 220-240 for the turbos. Or really close to that. But u can make the late model 2600pds with a few tricks.

free scales

I can go to the recycle center here to use the scale. You have to weigh in as you enter and leave to see how much junk you dropped off. I could just ask how much I weigh after dumping off everything.
Most of your interior is recycleable, AC lines are aluminum, so they can go. I figure since I don't have cats, I'm paying my dues by recycling.

86-88 cars start at 2625lbs
89-91 cars start at 2805lbs +-25 lbs

Thats the curb weight, IE no cargo, just a full tank of gas, no driver, and spares and stuff

Really radical weight savings you can get just under 2200 with almost no gas or driver thats one seat and nothing else inside. no ac, ps, smog pump ect

when i was sitting on the scale it was 2453lbs with 1/8th tank of gas. I wiegh about 160 so that would have been about 2193lbs

all that got me a 15.0 1/4

87 TII, 2550lbs with about 1/2 tank of gas.

87 TII, removed all emissions, cats, etc, straight pipe exhaust w/no mufflers, no spare, jack, etc. No a/c, cruise, PS, lighter wheels, heater, stereo, smaller battery, front bumper reinforcement, 17lb flywheel, no rear wiper, washer, rear mat under carpet, power antenna.

Front seats weigh about 33lbs each, the car still has the power windows, sunroof (33lbs), carpet, seats, interior appears to be complete and the car has all glass windows and sound deading that is glued to the floor.

Figure if we take out the front pass seat and front sway bar (for drag racing) that should dump another 40lbs, carpet and misc interior will weigh about 30-40lbs, so empty (no gas) it would weigh about 120 lbs less than it does now for a total of 2430lbs. Replacing windows with plastic will save more along with chipping off any sound deadening. Replacing front wheels with "skinnies" will save another ~30lbs.

yeah, I go to this concrete yard by my house, they have a scale for weighing trucks before they buy sand/gravel/stone whatever, and then they weigh them on the way out to see how much to charge. The guy there is pretty cool, (he dosent give a **** if I burn off off the scale either).

The front bumper reinforcement is the fiberglass piece that is behind the nose. It weighs about 15-20lbs. To take it off you have to remove the nose, unbolt reinforcement and replace nose. I didn't have to scrape any foam off, it isn't glued to the nose.

I REALLY wouldn't recommend this mod for a car that is driven on the street, one little parking lot tap will wipe out your front end.

This car isn't really streetable, no heater is the real killer. Driving in any type of rain is just miserable, the windows fog up like an old VW bug.

Hatch and hood are stock. You won't save much weight over an aluminum hood, you might save 10-20lbs by replacing the rear window with plastic, although I doubt it would seal very well.

The front and rear impact bars are #12 each but the brackets that hold them on the car are #5 each. That's roughly #22 off each end of the car. Remember thats weight sitting outside the wheel base. Replacing the rear hatch with the Mazda Competition parts hatch will save about #30(if I remember correctly) of weight that is mounted real high in the chassis. Bad part is the Mazda piece is expensive($600 plus). Not very usable for the street. Sound Deadening Goo(SDG) removed from under the carpet will save #25.

I've got a list of items I weighed somewhere that I'll eventually post with the weight of my FP car. I'm hoping for a running weight of #2250 with me in it. The lexan windows come later.
