Talking

Dont know about yours, but in my TII all you have to do is twist and pull really hard. The inside of the **** is plastic, and due to the heat some of this plastic should have melted and "glued" the **** onto the stick. Just be careful when you pull...

Mine wasn't that bad.

On my TII, it wasn't hard at all, but then maybe the owner before me had already loosened it for me. No evidence of using any tools to pry it of though.

The shift **** screws on to the shifter stick. There is a chrome plated lock"nut",it is round with only two flats on it.Put a wrench on the flats and turn the **** anticlockwise.(for 86-88)

On a manual, just unscrew it counter clockwise
