Exclamation just a reminder to change your fuel filter. mine clogged. afr at 17

Was running stock s5 t2 at stock boost and no mods other than rtek 1.7 and 750cc secondaries, so decided I didn't need to hook up a wideband. I installed my Panspeed Hybrid t04b, safc, greddy profec b spec 2 boost controller and saw it was running extremely lean at 10lbs of boost at 17 afr.........

tried messing with the safc to plug fuel in, and no change at all. so today I finally decided to change the fuel filter with a mazda one I bought 3 years ago. After pulling out of the garage, I hit boost, and it was running extremely rich to the point I zeroed the amount of fuel added with the safc.

Wix Fuel filter had 50k on it, I know you shouldn't do this, but I thought, what the H E double hockey sticks, it should be fine.

So just a friendly reminder to change your fuel filter, and figured this may be searched in the future.

A very good warning to heed. Especially as the newer fuel formulations can help break up gunk that was otherwise mostly settled in your tank. It's a good idea to also swap the fuel sock and check on your baffling when you change the filter. In addition, it's not recommended to use gas stations that have recently (~24hrs) had their tanks refilled. Basically, if you see a tanker there just go tomorrow (if possible).
