I just rebuilt my engine a few weeks ago, and I'm having problems with the first start. It just sounds like it's cranking, and not sparking at all. I can just smell fuel in the exhaust. I've replaced the spark plugs and cleaned them after I tried a couple cranks. can anyone tell me how I can make sure that i'm getting spark, or check it somehow without a device?. Or a picture of the wires coming from the coils? because I have one wire disconnected and I can't find the other end. I'm hoping it's not a ground wire. by the way it's an 88 S4 TII
