Talking Just Picked up my Anni TII...

Whats up guys, i just got my 88 Tii today. I'll post some picks up later. Been busy cleaning it and enjoying the 7. I have tons of questions. But i'm sure i'll find the answers here. My roommate has an FD, and my other buddy has an FB. So i guess i completely the family. Car Specs.
1988 Anni Ed. White with Black interior. 105k Miles. Needs some work, but engine still runs with little smoke. Though boost is a little weird.
My car doesn't boost at all in 1st gear, and boost feels weak through the rest of the gears. Also the tranny syncros are all messed up. i won't get too much into it now, but i think the only fix is a rebuild. Well if anyone has any ideas as to what the problem might be, that would be awesome.
It feels great finally owning an rx-7, after wanting one so badly.
I'm not a newbie, so please don't think of me as one, though i know i sound like a 16 year old right now, i'm just excited. I'll miss my supra, but i love the way the rotary sounds, when ported. I'm sure u guys know what i'm talking about.
Thanks for you time.
BJ

Probably needs a rebuilt turbo. Or the wastegate is a bit loose and opening up too soon. But check the turbo blades to make sure and see if the turbo is smoking or not.

Synchros messed up? Double clutch for the time being until you rebuild the tranny.

Congrats on getting your FC.

Try Redline in the tranny first, before rebuilding it.

A bad enough exhaust manifold leak will kill quite a bit of boost. Or maybe a post-turbo pipe connection leaking. Wastgate issues? You'll just have to go through some things to narrow it down.

Cheers on the find. I love that black interior on the AEs.

Clogged catalytic converters could be to blame, check them and verify they are in working condition, if no gas gets through them you are getting no boost and most likely developing a pretty decent exhaust leak.

it could also be a large boost leak like a loose intercooler coupling or something. Check the cheap and easy stuff before you start ripping out turbos to rebuild.
