Hi everyone, i just joined here to get support for my car. i have an 87 N/A with a remanufactured engine from Mazda. It sat in my brothers garage for 2 years and was periodically started. i have had it at my house for the last 2 months and i was starting it every 2-3 days and letting it run. i now have it on the road as my daily driver while my corolla sits on the driveway. it seems to run fine, however it needs a whole new exhaust. it passed the aircare test though. I just bought new NGK plug wires and new plugs, and i am going to flush the rad and change the oil. Everything else seems to be fine, but it lacks power. i was wondering what else i could do to get it into good running order, and to maintain it well. i check the oil everyday and add it as it needs it, same with the coolant. any advice would be appreciated. thank you

Lack of power is likely due to the 5th and 6th port actuators freezing up. IF this is the problem, a LOT of power can be restored past 4k RPM's if you fix them... Search for "5th and 6th ports" or "port actuators", Or there might be something regarding this topic in the 2nd gen. "Archives".
BTW, it'd be a great idea to siphon the gas, or jumper the fuel pump, remove a line and let it drain? (I can't remember how it's done exactly...) 2 year old gas is probably *not* the best fuel for your beast.
