just got two 7's for free

yeah i just got two 86 non-turbo 7's for free from a friend. one got the **** beat out of it in his back yard and the other is kind-of good condition i mean the body. the person who owned it before him drove it in low rpms and carboned up the engine and froze it and the other blew a seal and trashed one of the rotors and one housing. i was woundering if it any body knew were i could get a cheap engine. i found i found a 13B-RE Turbo 5 SPD RWD Tranny and Intercooler for about $1100 if i could find on cheaper that would be great. i was also woundering if it would be worth it to get the new rotory not the tri-rotor but the 93-97 rotory for about $2000

do the 13B-RE swap with a TII tranny....

Don't even bother getting the 93-96 engine....more trouble than it's worth. It's actually cheaper to put an RE or a 20B in an FC than it is to install a REW....

It is not easy to drop the 13b-REW (FD 93-95 engine) into the FC. It requires lots of custom work and will most likely cost you the same amount of money as a 20B (three rotor). If I had the money to do the swap, I would go with the 20B.

All of this has been covered many times.

Not factory... the 13BRE didn't come with a 5 speed manual tranny, only a automatic.

Read the engine swap section on that. I hope you know its going to be 5-10 grand for EITHER of the swaps.

Ask the NA -> TII guys how much they pay.

Dude... you got two motors sitting there.... pull them apart and eyeball them, you may be able to make a good motor out of the parts you already have....

Buy the Bruce Taurentine video and see if Rotary engine monkeying is for you!

The rest is most likely over your head.

Definitely props to bruce. He sold me my car and did a rebuild at 100k. My car runs great and I love it to death. If anyone can show you how to put a rotary engine together, It's Bruce. He's been doing it for something like 25 years. BTW, is Bruce on the forums at all?
