i drove by there today because i was at my friends helping my friend with his firebird today and i decided to look upon the dsm, cool ride, i saw the dsm and the FD thats youre badass ride or johns? neway thats cool, oh and i think imma keep it at champion used longer than expected a couple of months or so next to a crappy civic hatch that my dad took in on a trade. friday imma buy a battery for it and hopefully at least get all the electrical stuff working. oh and do you guys have any spare manuals i might be able to bum from you untill i get mine from the ebay? mine unfortunately didnt come with it.

 

if icant postem on the site ill just putem on myspace and you can the them there along with my 1/10 FD.

any suggestions on the paint? i know im gonna have to get body work dont and the a paintjob but i was wondering. Leave it harbor blue or paint another color? i want to paint it an original color no custom wacked out colors like yelow or anything. And please no more suggestions from the peanut gallery about putting any of that american engine stuff in my 7. i like american muscle but it mazda had meant to put a 350 v8 in their rx-7s they would have made their own v8 and done so.

 

So, is it running? I've resurrected two dead '87's so far, and both times, the hard starts and flooding were fixed by replacing the vacuum lines. (I was lucky) I highly recommend replacing that hard brittle rubber with some new silicon. It takes about 20-25 ft. While you've got your UIM off to do all that, clean out your intakes too.

Are you keeping all the smog stuff, or are you going to simplify things?

 

been sitting for 3 yrs but ima get a battery on friday and find out whats wrong. but from what the guy told me it sounds like it flooded. ill probably be changing out alot of stuff over time but i just wanna al least her it turn over first and then slowly but surely ill get it back to running condition as for smog and stuff, where im from theres no emissions testing as far as inspection i know who will inspec my car for the normal 12.50 and overlook me not having cats.

 

when you drain the gas tank, clean it out to with some alcohol, then clean/replace the fuel pump suck and put it back in, just to be safe , check your wiring, your hoses, replace all your filters (not too expensive air,fuel,oil) throw a new battery in for kicks, but before all check the compression.

 

im already gonna do that don friday (the money day) and buy a battery then imma just see if it turns and ill do a poormans compression test

 

come on, push it down the road with another car, 1st put a lil oil in the plug holes, put the plugs back in, it will start if it will ever want to...try that NOW!!

 

good news is i hooked it up to the battery in my 626 and the radio (i was jammin to some Hotel California) and every other electrical thing in that car turned on and the wipers were going and then i cranked it to see if it would do anything and it turned over and i had spark but no gas or water in the radiator. friday im gonna try putting a little bit of gas and some water in the radiator and see if it starts but before i do that im gonna check the compression.

 

Why would you put gas in the radiator???

 

i stearte drinkin last night and i think i slightly impaired my ability to type and think (but i can play one hell of a game of halo when im boozed out) straight lol sry about the mix up it was put water in the ratiator and gas in the tank.

 

Funny, I prefer to drink martinis and play Grand Tourismo, But I totally understand.

just removed the fuel pump today and to my suprise there was still gas in the tank and the tank itself was completely corroded and rusted any ideas and how much will a new tank cost me?

 

the 700r4 is probably the weakest chevy tranny u can get, why?
