Just got my second/first RX about a week ago

i had an rx in high school but it was a tore down one i got from my sister and never did anything with, it broke down and i moved on but it was a cool little ride. i just picked up my second one about two weeks ago for $1000. this time around i am going to get a lot more into my car. i have had a prelude and integra but they didn't really do it for me. i have big plans for this one over the winter.

here's some pictures i took of it this morning, tell me what you guys think. and one question, it has the GT on the front fender but I'm not sure what model it is. Can anyone help me out?

all I can teel is it is an S4 with some 4 lug rims I have never seen before.. I dont know what a "GT" is and it looks quite rough for a 1000.00 I sure hope it is a low mileage car..

does it run, driver, 5spd/auto, interior shape, any more info

btw it is the same color as my s5 vert (in my avitar)

Your bumper got fucked up just like my car had.... from the license plate frame in the middle... pushing against the bumper constantly.. hot/cold/hot/cold... becomes permanent. It'll never come out. Time for a new bumper......and RH fender, and RH door.... Great start though! Even if it isn't a GT.

Edit: Looks like a GXL to me... Sunroof and all.. Power windows?

I may be wrong, but I think GT's were a Canadian Model of the RX-7. I think Kevin Lander's(RotaryResurrection) TII is a Canadian GTX if I remember correctly. Like I said, could be wrong.

Maybe the GT is Canada's version of an SE? The 4 lug means is definently not a GXL.

be careful with the sound system. Never blast it around you neighborhood so thieves don't follow you and try to break in. Looks like a nice small project. Check the for sale sections and look for the interior/exterior parts. You have a series 4 (86-88) but you should look for S5 (89-92) radio surround (better material less likely to become brittle and break like yours)

COOL, THANKS. HEY I WAS ALSO READING ON HERE THAT IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO PUT A 3RD GEN ALTERNATOR ON INSTEAD OF REPLACING WITH THE OEM, IS IT A DIRECT FIT?

THAT STEREO IS COMING OUT, WAY TOO LOUD AND WAY TOO HEAVY FOR WHAT I AM GOING TO DO WITH THIS CAR.

I am a firm believer in not adding any more drains to the electrical system (hell even the E-fan is an unnecessary load). I am just going to replace all the stock speakers with a nice setup and keep the boxes and subs and amps away for now.

I THINK the FD alternator needs to be modified slightly for it to fit the harness but i think an alternator shop can do this for you. You'll have to search though because i'm not 100% sure on that.

what are your plans for the car?

i am planning on taking out all of the stereo and putting two nice speakers in the back and thats it. i was just asking about the alt because the thread i read said that the fc elec. system is already loaded enough.

this winter i am planning on doing all of the body/paint work and probably streetport and a new tranny. i just put new pipes on.

Thanks staticguitar313 for verifying that. I thought it was Canadian, but wasn't sure.

I don't think the sticky covers Canadian models.

From the VIN, it appears it's an 88 G=86 H=87 I=skipped cuz it looks like a 1 J=88. The steering wheel also gives it away.

No GT models that I've seen or heard of here in Canada. Could the fenders have been fitted with the wrong stickers? I thought they could be JDM for a second, but then remembered it is lacking the side blinkers.
