The car i have been getting all of my parts off of has sit in a junkyard for the past three years, a buddy of mine owns. And the car at onw time set beside the creek at the junk yard. And it floods alot. so it got up in the car and got the panels really dirty moldy and disgusting. The only reason i wanted them was because the backing was not rotted out like i thought it would be. so i took them home and got to work. The first thing I did was seperated the upper and lower part of the panel. The top part of the panel is in fairly good shape so I took out the vents and let them soak in a cleaning solution while I worked on the upper part. THe first thing I did to it was wipe off the worst of the years of grime with a steaming hot rag. Then hit it with a steam cleaner X2. and cleaned deep like in the textured part of the panel. Then hit it with some interior shiner stuff to make it look pretty. The vents where taking completely apart cleaned greased and reasembled and now they look like new. For the lower half of the panels that is the hardest part of this. To different types of materials and testures. For the nonfluffy part of the panel I used the steam cleaner was mentioed above and went line by line to remove all the mold on the panel. And thats all the nonfluffy part took. The fluffy part was quiet difficult. For this is used a shop vac to remove the worst of the grime. then again steamed it, hit it with the beater brush on a good house vac steamed again. Still not clean so then on a small portion I decided to try something. Took a little of that borax hand cleaner thats like dawn. Put a little of it on the fluffy part and hit it with a little water then more steam. And bam it worked and repeated no the rest of the panel. And now it looks like new. And now you know why it took 3hrs to clean one panel and im about to start on the other.
