just got a 87 SE auto...now what?
Picked up my 87 SE automatic, 78627 miles on the clock on saturday. Everything works, even the high/low speeds on the wipers. Did general maintainance, shes running good.
Paint is pretty bad, oxidized hard core, but I've buffed the heck out of it, and should have it looking a decent glossy red, at least it will look decent.
I've got to take the exhaust off and hollow out the main cat at least, and check the others, one of 'em is clogged.
Undercarriage is immaculate compared to a lot of other FC's I've seen and been under. I've had zero problems thus far even though I haven't had her very long or spent a lot of time behind the wheel. I should be getting her inspected after I throw some new brakes on her. She also needs a radio, but has some nice Kenwood speakers.
Now to my question. What should I do with her? I don't have a lot into her at this point, and would like to keep her and convert her to a TII. I know thats the more expensive route....but am finding it hard to pass up because of the body conditon of this car. I have a TII tranny, and most of the other stuff to convert it. This is not my daily driver, just my project car.
Should I keep the car and convert to TII as time and money allow? Or should I sell her and get a GXL 5-speed to convert to TII? Or just sell and save some more cash and get a decent TII? I know most of you will say option three...but I just figured I'd ask. All opinions are welcome, and any advice on what to do the car is welcome too.....
Thanks all!

agreed, I've just got to put the TII tranny in her (sitting in the garage), or what the heck...just the TII motor (needed, need cash first..) and tranny, lol

Go ahead and get an intake now if not only a drop in filter. It really depends on what you want with the car. I'd get some nice tires put on and maybe some aftermarket wheels. New shocks struts and springs? If you plan on going turbo eventually I wouldn't get exhaust yet, just gut the cats like you said.
