Just finished putting a Mind Train downpipe on!
Well, I just finished up a test drive with my new Mind Train downpipe on, and I am totally impressed. The turbo spools up almost immediatly off of idle, and I now have 2 psi more boost. This is just with the addition of the downpipe, I still have the stock main cat and cat-back system. Now I have to save up for their Turbo II "Big Throat" Cat Back system.
For $129 plus shipping, you get the downpipe, a can of 1500 degree high temp paint, and a new downpipe to cat pipe gasket.
This downpipe is a work of art!!! Smooth as can be. No ripples anywhere, and the welding on the end fittings is some of the best I've seen. Best of all, it installed easily and lined up perfectly. The only thing that was placed differently was the O2 sensor mount, but only slightly, and made no difference in installation.
Glad I went with Mind Train.

knowledge junkie
btw - with a similar setup as you I dynoed around 225fwHP (192rwhp).
Basically downpipe, perf cat, catback with glasspacks.
You could probably net more with full intake setup, but keep in mind that allows more boost creep.

I bought it directly from Mind Train out in California (the address and phone is above). They are really friendly and helpful when you call. When you call though, it is easier to get a hold of them after 1:30 in the afternoon (California time). They work down in the shop in the mornings, so if you call early you get their answering service and they return your call.

I carry Mindtrain products at the RX-7 Store if you need a donwpipe and I can usually do better than their listed pricing.

You know, before I ordered it directly from them I did check out your web site. You list $139 on your web page, they list it directly for $129. If you can beat their listed prices, why don't you list a better price on your web site then what they list in their catalog? If you can beat it BEAT IT ON YOUR WEB PAGE. If there is one thing I hate is calling and asking someone "hey can you make me a deal on this thing." If you can do better, cut the crap and do it up front.

225fwHP, with just a full exhaust, thats very cool!
I'm all excited now. I took the car out all afternoon today. Its like driving a new T2. It spools so much quicker now, and that little extra boost really makes a difference.
I've had the car for 2 years now, but this is my first HP upgrade. The previous owner didn't take great care of it, so first I had to get the engine back in good shape. Front and rear seals, new injectors, starter, water pump, all kinds of electrical stuff, and on and on. After that I started prepping the car for added HP by putting in a 3rd gen fuel pump, and a new high performance clutch. Nice upgrades, but no HP gains.
So now I am finally getting to the fun upgrades!!!
My friends think I'm already addicted, but I keep telling them that I can stop anytime I want.
