Just finished jspec swap- bad idle problem!

After I got everything hooked up except for the tps, I started her up and it pined at 3k. I am told that with idle adjustments u dont need a tps. The Idle is down to a little above 1k, but now I cant turn on the fuel pump or else it dies...a/f gauge doesnt say its running rich, but everytime i turn the fuel pump kill switch on it emmidiatly dies. Why the hell would this be happening??

the tps sensor being hooked up doesnt change anything. Could I have the fuel lines switched (return/feed) Which one goes where there are the metal lines above the spark plugs, one is higher than the other. which one is supposed to have the pressure the one that goes to the press. regulator and primaries first or the one that goes to the pulsation damper and secondaries? Thanks,
Chris

come on somebody has to know which fuel lines go where. when they were hooked up with the pulsation damper and secondaries first it would run but only with the pump off, so i switched and now no start. So what else could the problem be? Im gonna switch it back to how i had it when it started fine tomorrow.

Well, on my series 5 car, the lines were pretty obvious as one was longer than the other, I believe the one nearest the firewall was from the fuel filter, and the one nearest the front of the car was return. IIRC, the fuel goes from the primaries then to the secondaries, then back to the rear of the car. So, your car will only start with the fuel pump killed, and then when you flip your switch to turn it on, it dies instantly? If the fuel lines don't fix the problem, it sounds like a horribly stuck injector that is flooding your engine like crazy.

I have it hooked up the way your saying now and it wont even try to start. Mine is a s4 and the fuel lines are situated that one is higher and one is lower. It seems logical that it would go to the press regulator first or in other words the primaries but the fsm looks to me like it goes the other way which is strange. Any one else have ideas and yeah as soon as i hit the switch on it dies instantly!

Well, you can try swapping them, however I think your problem is related to the injectors flooding the crap out of your engine. Did you have them cleaned by any chance? It might be a good idea to check them.

could this be caused by my lack of having a tps? The engine had the s5 intake manifolds, so i just didnt hook up the tps b/c i am told it can run just fine without it. If not how could i fix a bad fuel injector....clean, replace, ect... Thanks alot

The car now Idles fine at ~1k, but after a while it starts to stumble and die even when im driving. If I turn off the fuel pump then it will bounce back and run pretty well.
