Im trying to figure out whats going on... I drove to Bellingham 115 miles and back 115 miles for a total of 230 miles Plus 5 for pit stop and i still have half of a Tank at 230 Miles. This car would never see over 200 miles per Tank. When i forst got the car it was doing 170 Miles a tank. So is 230 miles on the freeway from Renton to Bellingham and back 230 Miles Good for an S4 88 gxl?

Yes that happens, mine does 500 km on a tank of gas, thats 310 miles. 100% highway driving and staying under 4krpm. Normal city driving or spirited and it gets down to 350 km no matter how easy I am on it. So I decided to drive it like I stole it and I still get 350 km per tank. Its funny but thats what happens.

Just fill it up all the way and see what you really did.

Still doesn't seem likely. Did you try to put any more gas in it after it clicked off?

if it clicks its full. If i ad more then its going to overflow out the gas cap. It clicks after it started gurgling. and i could hear the sound of it getting full before it clicked

I know that's what normally happens, but given the circumstances, it one more thing to rule out. Try it

well i was doing 55 or 60 the whole way. i could been doing 80 or 90 with the foot on the floor. But im guessing i would get less distance fighting more wind,

At any rate i'm 36 I don't have that urge to speed as much. So i took off for a road trip telling myself to Not get on the gas at all. and drive it like a geo metro. Well thats what i did. Sped up slow drove speed limit. I have my front air scoop on and put some spacers so more air gets scooped in. this would take work away from the fan as its not needed on the freeway . That with my timing i set one degree before the Pin and tires are at 43 all the way around. I didn't even do the MAS airflow censor trick yet. Maybe its running lean now. I have no idea,

Maybe ill find some people to get together with me to verify what i am saying

I actually had this happen to me on my cross country trip from chicago to san diego with my 240sx. I filled up in Denver, and I was averaging around 320miles/tank or so if i remember correctly, and once I left Denver I ended up pulling almost 500 miles out of the tank... I dunno if it had to do with the elevation I was at, or if it was because half of my trip was downhill through the mountains and canyons and whatnot... but I wasn't about to complain about it haha That was with just an intake/header/test pipe and catback. Other than that it was stock enginewise. Hoping my next trip out there in the FC yields the same results!
