Angry Just did spark plug change brake caliper + advise

That **** was so hard. The a/c lines kept getting in the way of everything. So after getting my hands crunched and cut into, I moved onto changing the break pads. Ok, I took off the right rear caliper and changed the pads, and I noticed how hard it was to get that single piston to turn. Now I move onto the left rear and the thing won't move AT ALL. I'm lost for words and with the dealership saying $120 and the auto parts store asking $90. I'm freaking out. I don't have any cash after I did the complete 60k mile tune up. I was just wondering if anyone had advice as to how to get that piston to turn. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Good luck with that... I'm doing my brakes tomorrow, and have accepted that I'll probably be rebuilding the brake calipers. There are special tools that can be used, and I understand that making sure you're pushing in can help, sometimes.

As for the plugs, they're really not that bad (at least on my S4 with PS & AC). I usually put the socket on the plugs, and then attach my wrench to it. Once they've been loosened a bit, I just take them out the rest of the way with my fingers.

If you pull the plugs semi-regularly and clean them, you can probably get a bit more life out of them. Plus, after you've pulled them out for the 5th or 6th time, it really isn't that difficult or annoying.

Oh ok, yeah this was my first time since I bought the car a week ago, and plus the guy before me put them in there so freaking tight. Now the sunroof, only the back goes up? I saw on that FAQ that it needs to be regreesed, now I was wondering if doing the job is that hard or if it's worth it. Thanks for your reply and good luck with the breaks.

Have you hit the "back" button again? When you hit the button, it pops the back up, and stops. If you press the button again, it should continue sliding back and open up. I can't imagine it's so bad that it won't slide at all...

i had to buy a new front caliper for mine. 1 of the four pistons locked up while i was driving, but it was only like a 2 mile drive home so the pad didnt get low enough to eff anything up on the rotor.

anyways, yeah i just ended up buying 2 good condition used calipers. just post in the forsale section needing some good condition rear calipers, or even look on ebay. FC stuff is ALL over ebay

Uh... good luck rebuilding one in a night. Or at least the finding of parts. Let us know how it goes.

i tried chizzling it out for 2 hours and I got nowhere but pieces of the piston getting fucked up. I did that with my left rear and it worked after a little hassle.
