For those DIY's with cars lowered 1" or more...
I'm in the middle of changing my struts and springs and after putting the first strut and spring back together I'm left with a scary problem(scary to me anyway
). I compressed the spring(HKS 28mm lowering) to put it onto the strut(KYB AGX), and after uncompressing it with the bump stop, spring seat, and strut mount block all re-attached to the strut top, the spring isn't very tight at either end. As in I can move it by hand twisting in its seat. Is there something wrong here? It's as if the strut has too much travel for the spring. Am I correct here? Should it be that way, and is it ok that way? I was under the impression the two should be pretty darn snug together. Can anyone tell me whether or not I'm ok to go ahead with it like that or not?

this is a common 'problem' when using lowering springs, the full droop/extension of the strut wil exceed the length of the coil, introducing some slop in the full droop position.
Just finish putting it all together and put her down on the ground, it will be fine. If you ever manage to get the suspension @ full droop in normal driving you might hear some noise from the coils when they encounter the slop, this is not likely to occur though...
but if you've ever seen pictures of cars lifting one tire off the ground taking a corner hard @ autox, that would be full droop on that corner and the slop would be present at that moment.
it's not a big deal though.

Thanks guys. I thought about it, and figured the only way it might cause trouble is if I decided to jump the car somewhere with enough airtime that the strut would completely decompress.
Although I have no intention of doing so at this point, you never know what might occur in my day to day driving
