Just Bought RX-7, Low Compression

Well i just bought my rx7 running in perfect condition with 800 miles on the engione up north.( very nice set up, TO4b turbo, greddy FMIC and plenty more)

But the guy had out the wrong alternator pulley on the car so when i was comming down the belt blew an the car over heated slightly, the next day I thoguht i could get home if I put a new pulley on since the guys first pulley lasted about 800 miles. I tried it one more time an an hour into the trip same thing one again and the engine over heated once more.

That was it i just had to get it towed an no more trying again.

I took the car to the shop and now they are telling me the back rotor has 110 compression but the fron one has 75.
DAmnnnnnn what should I do?, Do i need a rebuild now, or should i get it checked out by someone else or what should i do???? This really sucks i just bought the car running sooooo great and perfect .

Any comments or advice for me guyz??????

damn what the hell??? I would do the compression check yourself if you want a second oppinion. go to www.rotaryresurrection.com under the tech section and it shows you how to do a compression check with a piston compression checker. Also the biggest thing that would happen if it was slightly overheated would be maybe a bad coolant seal but not bad compression huh???

naw the thing was I know i can do it my self, but i wanted him to check Everything out professionally and see why the car wasnt turning over so easy

and how can u drive 40 miles without the alternator belt? thats impossible, your car would overheat tremendouslly without your waterpump for 40 miles

Well i guess if you removed the air pump then you would only have One belt running your water pump. Being the alt belt! See i still have the airpump belt running from the Eshaft around to the waterpump.

ok the compression came out to 70 70 75 on front rotor and 98 accross the back rotor
so teh car is running good

but is that compression bad for the car???

it runs just fine though
the problem was too much fuel was flooding the car everytime so i put a fuel cut off switch for now and it starts up good now

your cars a piece of **** just admit it lol j/k bro this is how you resolve the problem go to your local gas station get about 5 gallons of gas throw some all over the car get a match and throw it at it gets rid of all your problems and you can gather some friends over for a little bon fire... let me have your greddy FMIC tho... neways tell you the truth bro whenever i can go by your house again me n u will go to a local pep boys (corner of your house) buy a compression tester... or drive it to my house i got all the tools you need and i just bought a new 3rd gen so bring your *** by so we can do a compression test on it...

your car is hopped up, i doubt he has a smog pump on it, which also drives off the water pump. with your setup if you lose your alt. belt you got nothing, most people switch to a dual belt pulley setup to reduce this risk and also protect from the water pump pulley slipping.

as for the car, i would have them fix the problem with the belt and take it home. depending on how it was driven and the conditions inside the motor it may still need to be driven some more, maybe a little harder since it is over the breakin period. if the car still fires up and runs well i would put it in the back of your head unless you really want to tear it apart to find out why it has slightly low compression on the front rotor.
