Smile Just bought an RX-7!!

Whats up guys!! I just bought an 2nd Gen RX-7 yesterday! Its 1987 RX-7 Turbo with original 39,000 miles all stock. The previous owner was so nice with this car that he has never driven in snow/rain, oil changed every 3000miles, drive around a block once a week, waxed frequently. Its like a brand new car that just came out of dealer! I was going to modify the car but its just so clean that maybe I should leave it that way. What do you guys think? The price was only $6300! I don't have the picture right now but I can post it up by Saturday.

IMHO....keep it the way it is. It will be worth a pretty penny if kept stock and mint.

There are plenty of other high mileage half molested cars that can recieve a big single - multi-colour pearl paint - GP sports body kit and all that jazz.

But its your car - either way, nice buy and welcome to the club!

yeah sounds like you should just drive it like yo uwould if you had just spent the $19,000 on it new in the 80's. Enjoy Mazda's 1980s rotary sports car in all it's stock glory.

Get the car. Put it on a lift and inspect the underside. I recommend uundercoating the car now to prevent rust. If you do decide to mod the car, do bolt on's and keep the stock parts in a safe place that way you can always take it back to stock.

The car is in black exterior with grey interior... which is best color combo IMO. Yeah I was planning to undercoat the car because Chicago's roads have lots of salts. I really gotta find another car ASAP so I don't have to modify this rx-7. I'm looking for GC8 2.5RS, 99 10th aniv miata, or clean 91-93 240sx... All of them are pretty rare =(

My best friend has a 2.5rs......go for it man, what fun a ride. It'd be SUCH a shame to put miles on that 7.....I hope you can control yourself, I'd have a hard time.

Thanks for replies!! The only thing bad I heard about 2.5RS is about their tranny. But they're still amazing =) Rotary in Miata sounds crazy but what I'm planning to do is putting Individual Throttle Bodies on them to make a crazy na machine.
