Just bought my car
Hi, i just bought a 1991 Rx7 N/A with a 143,000 miles...completely stock for $2500....car runs really strong but I already had a problem yesterday....the water temp shot up and i left half my fluid on the ground in front of a friends house(now i know y the DSMers told me Rx7s r unreilable)...but since then...the car has run really good....i think it was just the extreme temps yesterday. Also, today the car had trouble starting...it kicked over, but i had to crank it for like 5 seconds...is this normal?? I'm completely new to Rx7s...thanks a lot

I would go get a compression test and make sure the engine is up to par... there are a few things like the ATF trick (look in archives) that can revive an older carbon built up motor, but you better figure it out before you break a seal....

Read the stickie at the top of the page to get familiar with rx7s in general.
If your temperature ever goes above horizontal on your car pull over immediately and shut off the car. Overheating on rotaries are very very bad and can lead to the death of the engine. Possibly your thermostat is broken. It should be replaced with an mazda OEM thermostat only. If you had trouble starting it, it may be flooded or have low compression.
Again check the stickies and search for your questions.
