thanx for all the help I'm thinking of swapping the 13B for the lovely 20B but heard its not worth the $$. That it would be a lot easier to get a FD.

It's all a matter of opinion...do what you want to do...you can have an FC with a 20b or an FD with a 13B for about the same price range (give or take).

Man, thats a good deal on that car with that low of miles... Why the hell cant i find any 7's that cheap?? Anyhow, Why do you want to change to a TII trans? Is your bad? The best component I can think of out of a TII (besides the motor) is the rear end. And you would only need that if you were going with some serious horsepower. I think your trans/rear end will hold up to most mods on a N/A 13b...

well i bought my car in need of four new tires and a new clutch. it still has the factory clutch. I want to put in a TII motor ported to make a goal of 500rwhp-600rwhp. Ive been reading the time slips and dyno page and I see its possible. So basically if I decide to do the swap I would have to change the rear end to a TII?

Yes, you will have to get a TII driveline, rear end, and halfshafts. 500-600 RWHP quite possibly will be too much power for the TII rear end too. What do you plan on doing with this car that you need 500-600hp?

HOW OLD ARE YOU?
DO YOU HAVE $10,000 IN THE BANK WAITING TO BE SPENT?

Yes, 500 to 600 to the wheels is possible, BUT IT TAKES A LOT OF MONEY.
Can you afford it???
600hp to the wheels on pump gas is next to impossible.

I dunno what you're smoking, but you need to take a dose or reality unless you're stinkin' rich or build cars professionally???

Yeah, the only way to somewhat affordably get that kind of power would be a SBC buildup. But, you would still have to replace your rear end and probably go solid axle. Thats just too much horsepower!!

BAH theres no such thing as too much horsepower. and when your doing a SBC you really only need to get new diff and such if your breaking into the 9's in the 1/4. which is a considerable amount of money. but you do what you want your money your time

There is deffinately such thing at TOO MUCH power. You can only build as much power as you can afford. More power ALWAYS means more problems... and many of them being costly. Getting 250hp out of a 13b isnt asking that much, and wouldnt be terribly expensive. But 5-600HP will be VERY costly. And thats JUST the engine. Not to mention upgrading the trans, driveshaft, rear end, fuel system, etc...

I only mentioned SBC's because they are by far the cheapest motors in existance to build up. Its a relatively easy swap. And getting one horsepower per cubic inch is dirt cheap. So, if you throw a 350hp 350cid engine in an rx7, it would be tons cheaper than trying to get that power out of the rotary stuff.

Or you could stroke a 350. A 383 stroker isnt that expensive to build and you can get ALOT of horsepower, and enough torque to make you **** your pants. I had a 383 stroker that I built from scratch for $2000 (for EVERYTHING carb, to oilpan) and it was 440HP at the flywheel. That would be enough to make an RX7 ALOT of fun to drive! Another great thing about a SBC, they are about as basic as you can get, and parts are FAR from hard to find. +They dont have to have all the damn electonic crap to run.

If you sit down to take a ****, and $100 bills come out, then build yourself a rotary that produces 600hp... If you take a **** and **** comes out, keep your expectations reasonable, or build a SBC swap.

People who haven't experienced it tend to say things like this.
Being in a 400hp at the wheels FC is downright scary.
500 would seriously scare me.
Going over 500hp, you're talking about a car that needs to be controlled with your right foot - the car can break traction in all 5 gears at any time...
