just bought a 91 N/A but....

Just bought a 91 (8-90) but I dont know what model it is. There is no badging on the car. It has every power option available except for sunroof and rear wiper. The car also does not have premium sound package. But it does have a LSD and big brakes(only on the rear) and it has small brakes up front. I ruled out it being a GXL since is doesnt have premium sound, no sunroof, and no rear wiper. Is it just a very optioned GTU or could it be a GTUs. thanks guys
Dave

check the sticky about the specs, buti believe that '91s only come in coupe, turbo and vert. so the n/a is defaulted as the coupe model just w/o the package for the power tilt and sunroof.

no 91's came with LSD. Only rumors of cars with LSD's exist.

It's probably just a 91 coupe, without any packages.

No sundroof
no rear wiper
no premium sound
lsd

Could be A GTUs. Are you sure its a 91 though? Check the sticker in the door and find the stock tire size. If its 16" tires then its a GTUs.

prodution date is 8/90 (so its 91 model year) and the sticker does say 16" tire. but I thought they didnt make any GTUs in 91

i was under the impression that 8-90 would be late in teh 1990 yr, i could be wrong but that would explain some things

wait, your saying you DONT have a sunroof? i dont see how that is even possible unless the previous owner shaved it. there are only 3 models available from 91':

vert
coupe
t2

the coupe came with a/c, p/s, and a sunroof. only had single pot breaks and open diff. the PO must have swapped brakes if they are 4 pot in the back and 1 pot in the front (thats the dumbest thing ive heard anyone do) and an lsd.

or your car is not a 91, but rather a 90 gtu's....which doesnt make any since either because the 90' gtu's are only left over from 89....
wtf?

Most model years switch around month 6.

For example a 5/87 would be a 87 model year, but a 7/87 would be a 88 model year.

There are a few exceptions to that rule (for example the 88 model year production ran from 6/87 to 12/88) but that is more the exception than the rule.

Almost all Japanese cars made after 6 of a model year are the next model year.

and for the GTUs guys trying to come out in this thread. There were no 91 GTUs models. All the GTUs models (including the 90) had build dates in 89.

91 models:

You have a base coupe without either the A or B package. As mentioned above, there were no GXL, GTU, SE or even GTUs models in 91. There was only the Coupe, the Convertible and the Turbo (not Turbo II- just the Turbo)
