Thanks!

It already has an FCD!!! I cant believe my luck... Its a little rough around the edges, but its a definately a 10th AE. I am still dumbfounded that he sold it to me for $700. What a DEAL! Only problem it has is no spark from either the leadings or trailings. I am thinking CAS. I wonder if the N/A and TII CAS's are the same. I dont know ANYTHING about TIIs

Hey Rarest, I am gonna be coming up to Redding (I am sure that you know where that is) around X-mas time. I would love to stop by sac-town and check out your GTUs.

For 700$... there has to be way more wrong with it rather than a dead coil pack.

I got mine for a grand but my motor is completely useless, other than for a few parts.. However, mine is also a flawless car.

I will get the pics in the AM, as far as whats wrong..Its got a hit on the drivers side rear panel, motor SEEMS to be good, no telling till I get it to the garage. Spark is DEAD, both leading and trailing (seems like the CAS). Other then that, it seems to be intact. I cant be sure of anything else till I get it down to my house. Its not perfect, but it is a registered 10th AE.

You shouldve done a compression test before you bought it... For how much a motor costs when its damaged, in my opinion its not worth buying a blown rx7.

Did the compression test...Wasn't pretty...Very low numbers in the rear. But not too terribly concerned about that...Has not run in months. If the motor is blown, I can deal with that. Parts alone are worth more then $700. Either way, I got my dream car...I have ALWAYS wanted a 10th AE.

Yeah, thats pretty much the exact reason I got my car. Sure the motor is blown, but the price was right and I happened to have 1000$ in my pocket (thats canadian money btw).

Now after 2 months Im waiting for my brand new motor from mazda to be shipped to me Rebuild was going to cost ~5000$ due to the excessive damage, it was cheaper for me to buy a short block from mazda and transfer over all the manifolds and accessories.

Yeah, its not perfect...But for the price I got it for, I couldnt say no. Seems odd that a car that supposedly had a 1500 number run, is that easy to get...

Yeah, seems slightly odd considering the production run was so small. But the GTUs run only numbered in the 100s. Which unfortunately for us, means that we dont own the rarest of the FCs. Only the second rarest.

Maybe.....Rarest's RX looks pretty sweet. I always thought it was a very tasteful representation of the GTUs. But I always wanted the 10th AE.

10th anniversaries are nothing special. They just have a funky decal and leather seats, and white rims. Have fun with the fuct motor. Still worth $700 though.

I've seen a few of this guy's posts... someone should stop him before he gets out of hand. Doesn't know what he's talking about. Although I'm no Mr. Yamamoto, what I know, I can contribute. I don't falsify info or pick someone apart because they have one of the rarest 7's ever made.

At least I can thank J-Rat for saving a seven from the junkyard, especially a 10th AE. Congrats.

Yo,

Well, with this damn weather...I'm not too keen on spinning the GTUs out...er...drifting it. Rpeck, you're more than welcome to come out. We need to get the Sac Sevens going again, and go hit the twisties up by Placerville. There's a great road up there.

RotorDemonGXL, you talkin' to me? You talkin' to /me/?! *snicker* If so...what are you talking about? When have I posted mis-information? I just hit 1000 posts awhile back, feel free to look through them. I usually try to help people out when then ask questions.
