jumping idle

jumping idle

when im in a stop light my idle jumps from about 1400 rpm to like 1600rpms up and down

Umm, vac leak? Idle adjusted too hogh mechanically? TPS?

What have you checked so far?

it usto run at 750 rpm but one day it started running 2000 rpm i lowered the idle with a screw driver and it only went down to 1500 rpm i moved the top screw.

Sounds like a vac leak to me. You need to tweak the idle screw back to where it was & find the problem....

I have a similar problem.. With the idle screw completely in, she's idling at about 1300.. and when I first start up the idle is jumping up and down between 900 and 1300...

i had a idle problem and i replaced the bac valve and that seemed to help but the real problem was the cruise control cable, so i was the position of the throdle that was in limbo. vacum leaks also
