Question JSPEC swap question.....

I have a 91' Turbo II and was wondering if I can take everything of of my american motor and bolt it right up to a jspec engine? IF no what do I need to modify to make it work. The reason I want to do this is because my current engine is blown up and it is the cheapest replacement I can think of.

If the Jspec is in decent condition, it should be fine to do what you suggest (although most Jspecs need rebuilding or very careful re-awakening).

And your second comment has no place here. If you are un-happy with a transaction then you should post that in the Good guys/Bad guys section of the forum.

Full lube and slow hand cranking of the motor at first, then driving the motor as if it is a new rebuild for the first 500 miles.

IMO: ATF is only to be used as a last resort, just short of rebuilding. It is not some cure all, and has damaged as many motors as it has helped.

Take into consideration that a Jspec has been sitting in some junkyard in Japan or Australia for the last 10+ years, the odds of the seals being in any sort of decent condition and the motor lasting more than 10K miles is pretty rare.

All I want to do is get it up and running. it blew up from a 17psi boost spike. If you know a better place to get a used Turbo II motor please let me know the thing wont even start now I drove it home in second floored it would only go 15mph. My budget is about 2500 was thinking of sending it out to pineapple racing but time is an issue as I deploy out to sea soon because I am in the navy.

If you know of something or someone in VA that would be great. On a side not I have been messing with RX7's since 96' so I am no stanger to pulling the engine out.
