Umm well here in australia, we have 2 sets of lights. Aus models have a more open garnish part for your rego plate, JDM ones have one the size of their rego plates.

Not too sure of you guys over in America, but there is a difference here. If you show me a pic of your standard ones i can compare it to my Infini's ones.

I now got Euro S4 lights in a S5, but wanna get the wider S5 tails, so there's less space for a licence plate... I will then get the smaller plates which IMO look better, especialy on the front. Need a set quick though before i import the car from Germany. The reason I asked was because I see alot of JDM sets on eBay.

Thanks anyways guys, anyone got a set of US or Jap tails with licence frame?

Riz.

So is the Aus holder different from the JDM/US one, or is the Aus one like the US and different from JDM? Maybe it's easiest to compaire dimensions? Width and height?

JDM/Jap/US are all the same, AUS is different from those three. JDM/JAP/US vert tails are different from the coupe tails, which are both still different than the AUS tails, that help clear anything up??

If you want to fill the area, for a smaller plate, then use the US/JDM spec convertible/Cabriolet license plate section. It fills the area so that the standard US/Japanese plate fits in with a minimum of open area.

The US and JDM spec taillights for the convertibles are the same size as the standard Euro light (in fact I had Eurospec S4 tailights on my old vert for a while so I could use the rear fog light).

THNX guys, you helped me out alot! The vert plate piece looks good with S4 tails IMO, but not so good with S5... Since I wanted to return to S5 anyways (now got S4 tails in S5), I think I'll get a complete set of USDM or JDM S5 tails...

THNX,

Riz.

So much mis-information in here.

Ok here are the main differences and the reason why JDM tails are filled with awesomenessticity.

1: They have pure JDM dirt in some of the empty spaces and holes!
2: They have JDM battle wounds and scratches from late night touge battles and wangan blasts.
3: And this is the rarest of all but for those lucky few some of them even had JDM bugs hiding away in them or burried under the rubber seals.

I can sell any of the above JDM treatments at a measley 20 dollars a set! That is to say you ship me your tail lights I will dirty them and with JDM dirt, scratch them up against a AE86 or GTR or whatever you prefer, and even catch some JDM beasties and tape them inside the housings.

OK ok sorry for the long joke but if you do decide you want some S5 FC tails (yes jdm) feel free to PM me, as I have a couple sets.

My 93 touring came with R12 but once that became unavailable I was able to run R134a in my stock system without any issues. The charge oil is different but other than that I have not had any issues. I know the o-rings are make of a different material and I did change those out in 2020 when I was pulling my dashboard to replace my leaking heater core. But I had no problems running it before that.
