"JDM" side skirts I've been seeing around

every so often when I'm on ebay or parts site I see these side skirts/steps. most of them have the title of "JDM Kouki OEM side skirts." What is the difference or is there one?

Thanks in advance,

Adam

There is no difference between the "JDM" Kouki skirts and the USDM Kouki skirts... Well except all the Kouki cars in Japan had them (since they were all turbo), where only the S5 TII's had them in the US market...

The only FC to have sideskirts was the S5 TII...

Unless you consider the Sport package, which came on the '86-'87 Sport, the '88 GTU, and some '88 TII's...

Actually the only ones to have the mouldings were aftermarket... All factory Kouki skirts stop below the mouldings...

Domestic S5 skirts have the body moulding on the fender and quarter panel pieces, just like the picture.

Dayum right, the moulding on the rear of the fender, and the front of the quarter IS part of the side skirt on the factory FC sideskirts

I know the factory ones are an ABS material... I had an unmolested '89 TII and the sideskirts didn't have the mouldings on them...

Not factory then. The factory ones are expanded urethane just like the bumper covers, just a stiffer material.

ABS was the best word I could come up with... They were plastic whatever... They were STOCK, which was my point...

Did they ave Mazda part numbers on the back?

Because all of the factory sideskirts I've seen have had the moulding portions built into the sideskirts.

The rear section (just behind the door and under the door) all had the trim moulding on it. It was how it attaches to the car there.
