Did you read the thread? The only difference is the shape of the lense. They're the size and colour as the US ones.

If you're referring to the lights fitted instead of FTP lenses, those aren't "city" lights (whatever that means), they're front marker lights no different to the ones your car came with.

Yea I have some jspec FTP and I think they only have a 15w blub in them, but they do look different because you can not see straight through them like the us ones. They are not worth the money imo.

They have a 5W bulb, so they're no better than the 5W front marker lights US FC's already have.

You're not supposed to be able to see through them because they perform a completely different function.

Why? I though the whole idea was to make them look less obvious, not more.

The plastic isn't actually darker, they're just not reflectorised like the US side marker lenses are. That would actually make them illegal in the US I believe...

Well there's no such thing as city lights on any FC. If you want to keep believing false info go right ahead. Most people appreciate being given correct info though...

Sorry if I've offended your delicate sensibilities with my deeply personal questioning.

ohh dude dont even trip, i wasnt offended in any way, the reason of my reaction is because you did not address to the question being asked, instead you focused on how i called these parts. To be honest i thought you were just trying to flame me like many other forum members. anyways the reason why i call them "city lights" is because when i bought mine the seller described them that way and to be honest they cant be called JDM FTP's because they no longer accomplish the function of "flashing to pass" and they look nothing like the american ones.

no offense taken NZConvertible, but i am no noob to these cars, i've been around them since i was born.

They should be called front marker lights, because that's what they are. US FC's have the front marker lights combined with the front indicators. Most Japanese FC's have them in place of the FTP lenses, and raise the headlights when you flash them.

I don't even know what "city lights" are supposed to be. In my experience people call them "JDM CITY LIGHTS!" when they're trying to sell them for far more than they're really worth. I think some buyers are expecting lights suitable for daytime use, not realising they're getting something no better than what they've already got. That's why I put this info out there, so maybe someone will avoid getting ripped off. I can't help those who obsess over anything "JDM" though...

yeah i can totally understand what you're trying to say, and i did know all the info you provided on the lights.

I dont really have an obsession over "JDM" cars however i do have a thing for S4 japanese model RX7's specially the GT-R and the GT-Limited, im trying to go for that look, so thats the reason of my trying to acquire these lights.

anywho, thanks for trying to help out dough

Japanese FC's are 99% identical to US FC's, so there really isn't a "look"...

you said it,,,,99%, i would say i disagree but you have a point.

they are not identical dough, theres certain differences such as lights, sideview mirrors and such...., if i really want to go all out on it i could also buy japanese emblems wheels and such.

i'll post some pictures of japanese s4 rx7's later on in the week

You've just listed every exterior difference, which sort of proves my point. The mirrors are the only exterior J-spec bits worth getting because they offer so much better vision. A lot of people seem to think they're ugly though. I took all the stickers off my car because it looks cleaner. And trust me, you do not want stock Japanese wheels...

I know what Japanese FC's look like. Apart from a handful of NA's sold new on 86, every FC in NZ is a used Japanese import.

Talk about a flame fest .......... I do agree the orange lenses are ugly. There's gotta be something out there that we can do. Even if we could get white with stock size no difference just white I'd be happy ... Those bubble lenses look retarded.
