JDM purchase is there an american alternative?

Hey guys,

I've got a question. I'm picking up my S5 husk of a car this weekend. I call it a husk because it has no engine or tranny. It was an NA but now it has no power plant.

So here's my problem, I'm looking to put a turbo II into it, osakajdmmotors.com seems to have a reasonably priced one that would come with a trans.

But since I'm planning on re-building (re-sealing and cleaning it out.) whatever I buy I'm curious about finding a domestic source of possibly rebuildable engines. other than craigslist does anyone know about something like this?

thanks in advance

If you think you can come into this thread and ATTEMPT to bad mouth me, your are grossly mistaken..

If you like I will dig up the old GGBG thread you started with all of your debunked claims against me.....

All who read/ participated in that thread Clearly pointed out that you had no idea what you where talking about..

Claimed that I sent an s4 TII motor when I really sent the correct engine.. S5 TII
He even posted pics of the motor.. Everyone who looked at the pics was able to see the engine was S5 and NOT S4..

Claimed low compression yet could not back it up...

Finally, just to shut this guy up....I offered a full refund if he would simply ship the engine back to me... and he refused...

It was all B.S.

I have a Few LONGBLOCK S5 TII core motors.. All are Jspec and 100% complete longblocks.. They are low compression on atleast 1 rotor. I usually part them out yet I have a few I have not taken any tools to yet.. If you are interested in buying a low mile Jspec longblock core motor ( motor need s a full rebuild) PM me..

Dont listen to MORON... He user name speaks volumes...

i've heard good things about Japan2LA.

he even offered to price-match wherever i was going to buy my JDM from.

unfortunately, i went a different route--just a turbo-NA conversion instead of a motor swap, so i never officially bought a motor off of him.

J2LA probably has the best feedback on the forum. But it is your call.

I wouldn't trust JDM motor sites farther than I can throw them. They will tell you they have a good motor, but when you get it, it can be anything but.

Bryan is your best bet. The feedback on this forum proves it.

Your name should be Crook2LA

You sold me a bad engine, i rebuilt it because you wanted to charge me a stocking fee and all sorts of bogus charges. You suck and i would not recommend you to anyone because of your bad business ethics...

You could buy from him if you want, but do the math. But why are you going to buy an engine that you are going to have the rebuild anyways when you could buy one already rebuilt with warranty? your choices are

http://www.atkinsrotary.com/index.php?pag=9
http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2n...ne_prices.html
http://www.banzai-racing.com/engine_rebuild_main.htm
http://www.azrotaryrockets.com/

and there are many more companies out there. You buy an engine from him you are taking a chance like i did and get a bad engine and you will have to then spend more money to get it where you want it, or just get a rebuilt one and know that the engine is good. Do the math engine+shipping+rebuild or one whole price for a good engine...

Whatever choice you make good luck.

I will have to ask one of the MODS to dig it up.. This ordeal with MORON happened a long time ago..

Hey Moron... number one works but number two is even better..

1. a person who is notably stupid or lacking in good judgment.
2. Psychology. a person of borderline intelligence in a former classification of mental retardation, having an intelligence quotient of 50 to 69.

wow, didn't mean to start a bloody war. But I guess that's what happens on forums, people argue.

I would like to see that old thread however.

But just so you all know, I've been speaking with J2LA about an engine I could rebuild.

Like I said i'm new to the rotary scene and I want to rebuild one for two reasons

1. So I can have an engine I know I can trust

2. So I can learn more about the engine itself.

I'm grateful for the concern, but i just thought I should make myself more clear.

I have had some bad experiences with jdm motors. There is really know way to tell what your getting no matter what the company says in the end its you stuck with the bills. I would say go with someone on the site someone selling a longblock with a good standing in the classified section or a reputable seller as i have not been here long I dont know of any others. although he is loud and obviously upset (i would really like to see that other thread) the other sites moron posted are some you could start with but in the end i liked the way Japan2LA handled business so im going with him when i do.

Just like the rest of the forums search and do your research. as for Japan2LA he was very quick with a price quote(although i didnt buy a motor from him), and all I have read about him has been good. Someone who will go out of his way to make even a moron STFU cant be all bad in my book.

Until I can get a mod to give us access to original thread, I will tell you what happened:

This MORON guy contacted me for an S5 TII longblock...much like many have done.

Sent me payment via US postal money orders and I shipped the engine out.

He takes delivery of the engine and I here nothing from him for over a month.. maybe 2 months, might have even been 3 months

All of a sudden out of no where he contacts me saying he wants to return the engine because he asked for S5 TII and I sent him an S4 TII motor.. (WHICH was not true, I have been doing this too long to make a mistake like this)

Finally after weeks of him saying I screwed him by sending the wrong series engine.. I and other members here DEMANDED he post pictures.. Sure enough he was full of B.S. as his own pics showed the engine was S5 and not S4. Yet, even with his own pictures posted confirming the motor was S5 he continued to say it was an S4...made absolute no sense.

When the series engine mistake thing did not work, his new claim was the engine had low compression.. I knew this was not true as I only sell motors (Running emotors) that make 100psi or better. I asked for proff of a compression test, and he sent me some Doctored up invoice showing he had some company test compression and that thier test showed low compression. I called the company and the guy who did the test was unable to tell me much.. he could not answer simple question about the test. He couldnt tell me what RPm the engine was spun to and could not tell me what equipment he used nor what technique he used to verify the compression.. Lastly, the comprerssion numbers he gave just did not make sense..

Anyway after all his B.S. I finally just decide to give him a FULL refund but required he ship the engine back to me 1St. He refused to send the engine back and threatened me with a lawsuit. Told me he was a FEDERAL EMPLOYEE and that I had no idea who I was dealing with.. all of which was done in seriously broken english.. I got a demand letter from some bootleg law office he paid to write a letter.. Had my attorney call/ respond to them. Found out he actually had not retained them and only paid a few hundred dollars to have them write a threatening letter..

I was ready to fight him in court .. My lawyer finally told me to forget about it as MORON was clearly bluffing with his threat of a lawsuit.. Lastly, I found out the FEDERAL AGENCY he works for is the US POSTAL SERVICE... Sorry MORON you are not a FEDERAL EMPLOYEE...

Honestly I think this was a case of buyers remorse.. He knows nothing about doing an NA to TII swap.. and once he started finding out the amount of work and money he was going to spend, he decide it was going to cost to much and that he could not afford it on his FEDERAL EMPLOYEE salary.. His only option then was to make up **** in order to make it look like I made a mistake in order to get me to take the motor back and give a refund.. The problem was, I am no moron and was not going to let him get away with all the lies and B.S.

Ignorance goes a long way and i could see that you go a long way from Japan to La. I have always been a federal employee since i graduated from high school, i did four years in the service and then started working for the Postal Serice which is a government brach, if you would have done your research you have would have known that, it is also stated in the ELM, and every thing that it does is approved by congress, but of course it is not in your ignorant opinion. I did finish the swap and was not satisfied with the engine that you sold me. You got me, you sold me a bad engine, i had it rebuilt and put on the car. I should of just bought an engine that was already rebuilt, but made a mistake of doing business with you. You make me laugh, and that's good. You are just a bad business person who has no ethics and thats ok. I have met worst than you. You should look into postal salaries and see where a EAS 17 make a year and you might learn a few things or to. I was going to prosecute you, but i decided not to becasue it was going to cost me more than what i paid for the engine so i let it go. That's the end of that... I'm going to leave this thread alone, just remember that you sold me one bad engine m/f and you were not man enought to admit it.

MORON....

Let me start by saying this.......... When I screw up something... I go above and beyond to make things right..

The situation with you was different...ALL B.S. claims and no proof..

So where is the proof you SOB? and again, your claim has changed again.

1St: You said, it was an S4 and not S5.. Absolutely DEBUNKED
2nd: You said, it had low compression.. Again no proff, therefore debunked

Now you say the engine was bad?? WTF? You say you had it rebuilt.. Where are the pics from the disassembled engine showing the parts you claim where bad?? Who rebuilt it? All these accusations and absolutely ZERO proff! Stay the F out of here until you have proof to back your claims up..

You were offered a full refund! All you had to do was ship the same engine I sent you in the same condition I sent it to you in back to me.. I WOULD HAVE GLADLY give you a full refund just to SHUT you UP! You REFUSED to send it back!

Again STFU until you can provide PROOF!

Lastly, Prosecute me....... You wish!!!!!!!!!!!! My attorney was ready and would have chewed you and your bogus Law office a new *******... You better be glad you never followed thru with you B.S. lawsuit.. as a large part of the Postal Service EAS 17 salary would be mine!

OSAKA is the worst importer ever.. I bought 3 engines at once from them.. 2 of the three were blown. and shipped incorrectly... ordered s4, 2 came s5, both s5's were blown.
