not that I don't doubt you Higgi, but I also have a pair on my car and have played with a couple pairs before. My pair fold and stay folded. They don't spring back. A few others that I have tinkered with wont fold at all because the spring mechanism was jammed and needed to be greased. But nevertheless, when it folded, it stayed folded.

maybe there's a difference from Japan and Czech Republic?

those mirrors look good. 87GTR your car is not red, its more like FIRE. If there was a color for fire your car would be it.

I will re-check, but my experience was plastic mechanism inside broke usually before they were folded that much to stay folded...

Rather than difference between euro and japan, i might be wrong, i have not gave it that much attention too them after seen how easy it could break - as lots of other FC plastic parts with their age....

On my car, mine spring back like HIGGI said. Its a Euro spec. I have seen other FCs here that are Jap Spec that they stay folded. I guess if you put a lot of pressure on them they would stay folded... I never did that on my mirrors though.

Euro mirrors are all the same, if you fold it a little, it comes back. But if tou fold it all the way down, it stays there. This is IMHO how all euro (and quess also jap.) works. Just to make it clear, in Czech rep. car cant have unfoldable mirrors and i quess that unfoldable mirrors are legal in US and few other countries only.

i dont have to put THAT much pressure to make them fold. It probably just depends on the condition of the mirrors (rust, grime, broken pieces, etc.). What I'm still uncertain about is the springing you guys are talking about. Mine do not spring back whatsoever. If I fold them, they stay that way. If I half-way fold them, they stay that way. No spring whatsoever. Maybe I'm missing the spring? I dont know, but I've taken the mirror apart already and don't see a place for a spring.

Interesting?

Anyways, sorry for the long wait of pictures of my UNfinished car. Still working on it but the JDM mirrors are there.
