JDM FTP's wiring how-to?

I just received an amazingly clean set of JDM flash-to-pass lights and I want to install them with a switch in the console next to my fog light switch (I am getting another fog light switch and am going to replace my security light with it and have my ftps wired to them).

My questions are as follows:

1. What size fuse do I need to run?

2. I want them to be wired the same as the fogs (where they only come on when the lights are on), how do I need to wire 'em to accomplish this?

3. Can they be wired as above and also be wired into the brights to flash when not in use? (you know, like they were ment to)

I have alot of stereo wiring experience but I have never wired lights like this before. Let me know if you can help.

A pair of 5W bulbs will draw a whopping 0.7A. They will not need a fuse if connected to an existing circuit.

Tap into the wires directly at the fog lights.

That's not how they were meant to be used. They're just front marker lights, no brighter than the marker lights you already have integrated into the indicators. Installing them will make the FTP function inoperative, since the headlights will be shining into the black plastic backing. Wiring them up like you want is pointless because nobody's going to notice you flashing a pair of 5W bulbs at them.

You should've saved your money and done this:

For the cost of a relay and a bit of wire you'd have DRL's that are far brighter than those Japanese lights and full FTP functionality.

Thank you for the info on the wiring...My primary objective is to make them work...i am not really to concerned with the ftp function, I actually didn't waste any money on them, I bought a bumper from a salvage yard for $53 and he left all the lighting in it (ftp's and marker lights), I got it home and it had the JDM ftp's!!! So really they were free!!!

I think I will do what you suggested and just wire them into the fogs.

Even if someone paid me to take them I'd still do it the other way. I just don't understand why people think these are anything special. I gutted mine and the car looks much better for it...
