There seems to be this crazy idea that everything the Japanese do to cars is not only the right way to do it, but also the best way to do it. What a load of crap! Just like anywhere else in the world, for every Japanese car tuner doing awesome work, there's a bunch of clueless wonders ruining their cars.

That de-turbo'd car is no great surprise though. It's not the first ime I've seen that done to a car. It just shows he couldn't afford to replace a blown turbo and didn't know how to rebuild it himself. I doubt he did it because he was expecting it to improve the car in any way.

On a related note, a while back I saw a Nissan at a mate's workshop with a blown turbo billowing great clouds of oil smoke. The owner had virtually no money, so the cheapest fix was to remove the tubo, pull out the shaft and wheels, weld up the holes in the centre housing and slap it all back together. No parts or fabrication required, only two hours labour and it ran fine (just slower).

Actually it was a woman with zero interest in having a turbo. She bought it cheap and fixed it cheap.

My thoughts exactly. Why not just trade. It's obvious that US needs moar turbo FC's and Japan, that's a different story. They always buy cars every 7 years. Will this apply to: the grass is greener on the other side?

I don't see what the big deal is - I thought it was common knowledge that an un-turbo'd turbo motor will last 500,000kms and make 249.8whp and get 31mpg - is it THAT much of a secret

Come on - the Japanese know everything, I mean they invetened that dancing video game, what else do you want?

Um, no... While you're bound to find some interesting stuff if you look hard enough, you probably wouldn't find or want these.

I personally wouldn't touch a modified stock ECU unless I knew exactly what changes had been made (and how would you?). You risk engine damage unless you know what supporting mods are required.

There certainly won't be "stacks" of BBS wheels anywhere because the Infinis were limited edition models, i.e. there were hardly any of them to start with. Hardly any Infini cars = hardly any Infini wheels.

And just because the stock exhausts had no pre-cat (the still have a main cat) doesn't make them in the slightest bit desirable. They're otherwise identical to the stock exhaust on a US-spec FC. Very restrictive, quite heavy and by now mostly rusted out and useless.

It wont be $167 after shipping, shipping is gonna kill you in $$$, and it would make no difference from buying here and there after shipping + you have to wait alot longer and it have to through a thorough US inspection. You end up paying $400-$600 alone for that bumper.
