LS1 coils are a common replacement.

I say replacement because I'm not convinced its an upgrade...

The FC ignition system is very robust in stock form. However, I'm starting to see *some* (which are very few and far between) failures given the age of most coils by now.

I 've been told that if you want to upgrade use an MSD 6A or 6AL with the leading coil pack. It's more powerful and less expensive than the Jacobs. Then to go even farther replace leading coil with 2 MSD blaster coils as well as both trailing.

From what I have read the stock coils are the best so far. Replacing them with NEWER stock units is highly recommended unless you go with the custom system that has 3 coils per rotor ( i can't remember the name of it right now but i'll try to post it tonight. )

I noticed a big difference with going with the Jacobs FC1000 box with the stock leading coil.

Check this writeup.

So the best recommended ignition system setup is a MSD 6AL with four Blaster 2 coils (one for each spark plug)? what are your guys thoughts on the HKS Twin Power.
