Back from the Dead for the 3rd time... Im in the same boat as everyone else, i have a Jspec ECU w/ that lil black box attached. I need to make this work until i can afford to go stand-alone. ANYBODY have any clue, somebody has had to have figured this out by now.

cuz thats the only TII ecu i have, and its been Re-chipped by RE

Is it even plugged into the EFI harness? Have you tried running without it?

i dont have it hooked up yet, i waiting on a couple of parts so i have everything on hand before i do my TII swap.

I dont even know what its supposed to connect to because the wires have been cut

damn i cant believe no one has answer for this, I'm about to order me up an japanese TII motor with the ecu as well, i'm glad im reading this ahead of time.

No ones got an answer for that "black box" of death ??

Does anyone have it, but not connected to anything and the cars running good ??

It's not the knock control box, the pin-out is completely different.

I highly doubt it's a "box of death" either...

I emailed a seller of RE tuneed ecus and he says its an open circuit relay, and that we can use our srock relay for it. but i have no idea where it is and what plug goes into it

Yeah, my J-Spec engine came with that box on the ECU with the wires connected to it. Don't know what it does yet cuz the car won't start. =( I think it's some sort of relay.
