you lose power at lower rpms its better to leave them alone if they work and repair them if they dont

It won't break your motor if that's what your worried about, and they'll still work (though perhaps not right on cue) if your air pipe is still connected to your cat, since the ports work on the adjusted sum of their two pressures. If nothing is still connected, wiring them open will just trade off low end for high end. All they do is adjust the available paths for air entering the motor.

what year is your car? not having the aux ports doesnt really hurt the engine. as fumihiko explained - you'll lose low-end power and you'll hurt gas mileage (hope that doesnt scare you ), if it's a S4 you dont have to worry about the airpump controlling the aux ports. but all in all it should be fine as a dd. mine hasnt been a bother to me.

6 ports wired open is annoying for daily driving but I noticed it more because I was street ported, which already hurts low end.

On the other hand, I tried the 12v pump mod for the ports and it just wasn't reliable over the long haul. **** always went wrong with it. Carbon would build up in the auxilary ports sometimes, my relay would break, I just got sick of it and wired them open again.

If you have an S5, the air pump is needed for 6PI activation. Sicne you don't have that, you might as well wire them open.

If you have an S4, read the posts above.

You need to retain your air pump, otherwise, your 5th/6th ports don't open.....read the post above you next time before posting. Or do some research into this, these topics have been covered 10000 times.

Man, I wish I was a mod so I could close redundant threads.

sorry for sounding like an ***, but for a street car, absolutely make sure that those 5th and 6th ports work, otherwise, the car will be a pig down low.
