Sorry to hear that your upset with the money you invested in your car. Im more then happy with my car to say the least and I could probally say my car is less streetable then 99% of the cars on this forum. Sure its less comfortable to drive, but its fun as hell to take out on the weekends. When I built my car I had no intension of driving it everyday.

Remember guys, when you but an aftermarket part that comes with that little label that says "This part is to be used off road only and is never to be used on a public highway." they say it for a reason.

I have always said a modded car is nice, but so is one you can hop in and drive for a weekend, put 300 miles on it, get 20mpg with some A/C on and enjoy and drive it to work the next day.

All those hours on the dyno and its still not right, thats a shameanother thing I have always said is everyone thinks with a internet connection and a Visa card they can build a 400 horsepower TII, its not that simple and people spend thier hard earned money and time just to have something that dont run or is useless.

I like my slow vert, but I like my Lexus better, lol

Rpeck, It sounds like you just need a real computer and a real exhaust and you would have a nice daily driver.

I went w/ the Haltech w/ my build up and it allows for stock/better than stock drive-ability even w/ stage 2 street port, 720cc and 1600cc inj, 11.5lb flywheel, low comp rotors, 3mm seals and very ported/ polished intake tract , etc. And it is easy for me to tune myself.

I could use a "real" exhaust as well. My Spec 90 3 1/2" turbo back is very loud w/ out the silencer in the tip! Do you have the silencers for your exhaust?

I use my car as a daily driver and it is nice, much more luxurious, quiet, less bumpy ride than my stock Honda ('72).

Lol. That reason is so they don't get a lawsuit filed against them! Especially by the state of california

The other problem I run into is; I live in CA. I got my car smogged with a Legit stock setup before I started to mod. In 1 year and 6 months I don't know what the hell I am going to do, I'm not about to tear the whole thing apart again just to pass smog.

Don't get my wrong people, I am very happy with the performance .. there is not a 'street legal' car around here that can even come close to hanging with me in the 1/4. But I do feel i spent to much time and money on a car i can only drive from time to time..... Get **** gas miliage, attrack cops like a magnet, No AC, have to run 91 ocatane (2 dollars a gallon or more here), And it still likes to drip a bit of oil from time to time, and it will not even be legal to drive in 18 months.

I am not saying DON"T mod your TII. I am just saying be warry, think about it all first, and take my advice to heart.

Oh man, I love my 87 base NA right about now after reading all of this. Less is more, yet too little is not enough . . . where is the best compromise?

I hate how loud my NAs full exhaust is, and it is a relatively quiet HKS dual catback so I am torn between putting the stock manifold or catback back on or doing something else to quiet it down.

Reliability and utility are the NAs' strong points. Mine gets 27mpg at 70mph and 22ish driving to work all week, all on 87 octane. Healthy NA second gens are sweet cars. With suspension mods it is totally awesome to go out and play with on the local rural roads.

its a hobby.

it will suck money out of your period.

if youh ave air pump and stock looking turbo i'm sure it will pass visual...

go buy 2 real cheap-o cats get a shop to make it fit your exahsut system... and presto...

=)

btw youh ave one sweet car.

also this is the reason why you must buy performance parts in moderation.

you get more enjoyment out of each.

Yep. I'd love a new engine / turbo / haltech. but at this point I see no reason too. it's not worth spending months of earned money on it right now. hopefully in a few years I'll be making alot more and I will build it.

my stock engine / turbo at 10psi is still lots of fun. and even as it is I can hardly floor it for fear of cops.

Fo rel, fo rel rspek...I'm not saying don't mod your cars either. I'm just saying to mod it for YOURSELF and not the guy sitting next to you at the light.
