its a go for color !!!car in primer but need help!!! photos

Hello all just have a couple Questions what parts should be painted on the car and what should be painted off the car it is a 90 vert. + the car is in primer I was looking at black or silver for the color but I was now thinking about a color like the primer I used with a clear what do you think? a hard call I have 2 tone leather that will go ok with the primer color but I think black or silver could be a little better but all would fly . photos of seats can be found on this site.

let me know what you think .
Thank you all for your time

*IF it was mine... I would paint it with Doors, hood, bumper, top, fenders off. the glass out (besides windsheild in your case), all the moldings off all the lights out. For color, 99k(brilliant black), or the pearl white cadillacs come in or the white that the 09denali comes in. (many other cars come with the same white).

+1.
Unbolt absolutely everything possible to minimize masking.
It's more trouble initially but will make wet sanding and buffing a lot easier.

Also, as long as the fenders are off you can treat the inner fender area with something like POR 15 to avoid future rust problems.

if you are not painting the jambs leave all the parts on.
If you have to pay someone else to remove the panels leave them on.

If changing the color then you may want to remove the doors and trunk, but I would not remove the fenders- there is no need once the bumpers and doors are off.

There is no need to remove glass because the back window is in the top, and the side windows are separated from the body by the moldings that are already off. You can remove the molding going across the top of the windshield and have a windshield shop replace it after. Remove the wiper arms this way when you mask the windshield the masking paper is not right on the hood.

I would remove the remaining moldings, bumpers, and the fuel door. You dont have to remove the entire top, just remove the bolts along the back to separate it from the body.

If going with mettalics try to paint everything that is off the vehicle in its natural position that it would be on the car.

i would take the hood and the deck lid (truck lid) off at the very least to avoid lazy painter syndrome, if your painting with metalics. tiger stripes FTW.

the more you can take off and paint then asemble, the cleaner and more profesional the job will look.

I contemplate going w/ Chameleon paint when I paint mine, but who knows if I will actually have the stones to do it.

FYI when I did finally remove my fenders there was zero sign of rust behind them, the bottom of my fenders were rusted from leaves and **** sitting in there before I owned the car, but even then it was clean metal back there.
